  1. Definitely some nice Mopars there. You'd think there would be a whole bunch of P15s there, based on the prices and aggressive bidding for parts on eBay. Wonder where all those cars are.....guess they're still being worked on. Should be really nice when done. Thanks for the pics.
  2. This one would take a little longer to build, I would think...........
  3. The convert reminds me of a solid grey one that was sold a few years ago. Some guy from Kansas City bought it from the original builder, did even more mods, then decided to sell as he thought the top made too much wind noise at 80 mph. (go figure) Wonder if this is that same car with additional tinkering? Guess it doesn't really matter if it is or isn't.........
  4. On that first P15......I'd say the interior is not quite factory original.....the front seat has been redone. Too bad they couldn't have matched the old one a bit better.
  5. No additional shots......the only ones on the thread posted by the photographer.
  6. Did the Patrol really use the Plymouths that year, or did someone make a neat replica?
  7. Looks real good........and Fido likes it too.
  8. Ditto on that.
  9. Dale brought the rear seat back cushion along on their Thanksgiving visit .... and it looks nice. The original seat was maroon cloth just like this one with grey bedford cord insert. But the car was originally Sumac Red. I think the tan color insert will go better with the yellow paint. Thanks Dale. Bob Back side of the seat........
  10. I noticed quite a few nifty convertibles in the first one. Quite a few MoPars in the second one.
  11. You may not necessarily like the car, but at least someone went to a bit of trouble to customize something besides a Ford or Chevy.
  12. I don't know about Midas, but here we have a locally owned independent shop and the fellow who does the work is also a hot rodder. That's who I go to when something is needed.
  13. Have you checked the parts for sale classifieds over on the HAMB? Those guys tend to have all sorts of things for sale. Just a thought. Link to page listing several 33 Plym parts: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/search.php?searchid=4493834
  14. Will have to look. Just now getting a chance to sort thru the containers of stuff left after the good ole tornadoo. Never know what a person might find in there.
  15. Some people appear to have more money than brains or taste.
  16. Ho Ho Ho
  17. How about measuring your Dad's top, Ed? Might be close.
  18. On a 46-48 Plymouth engine, the number begins with "P15" followed by additional numbers. Wonder if it could have originally been a Plymouth motor, but they would have initially been silver in color. The number would be on the driver's side of the block on a boss.
  19. Looks real good......should be a fun car. Here's a link to a brochure sort of thing showing various colors on these model Birds. Maybe that will be helpful. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=1959+ford+thunderbird+sales+brochure&id=92EC744A90370D6E7894AA09F7EF219C796FD935&FORM=IQFRBA
  20. Has anyone ever been to the Dezer Auto Collection and Event Center in Miami, FL? I just saw an item about it on a car show on tv. They talked with the owner, and showed some cars which included a blue P15, a 50 Dodge and other older Chrysler products.....plus many others. I think they have over 1000 cars, and will rent some out for weddings and other events. Just passing it on as it's another place to see some nice old cars. Link: http://www.dezercollection.com/for-sale-or-lease/ There is a similar sort of place in Grandview, MO (just S of Kansas City) called the Armacost Museum......they rent it out for various sorts of events, held among the cars on display. Never been there as I don't think they actually offer public admission or tours. http://www.hovermotorco.com/2011/07/armacost-auto-museum-in-grandview-is.html
  21. Greg, I found, at our local public library, a city directory for 1947 and in it was an ad for the Plymouth dealer at that time. You might check from that angle. Or, perhaps a microfilm of a newspaper from the time. (The son of one co-owner of that dealership is in our Sunday School class. I've asked if he has any memorabilia from the dealership, and he says he doesn't. Guess it just didn't interest him at the time.)
  22. Hmmm....sounds interesting and fun so far. The spots are small and not many of them. The 06 Infiniti just started leaking a couple days ago....a few little places on the driveway. Today the shop guy says a transmission line appears to be the culprit. So he will do whatever he thinks it needs on Monday. Thanks for the advice guys. (Now, where's that Chubby Checker record?)
  23. Just wondering what do you use to clean grease or oil dripping spots from your driveway or garage floor? The wife's car just started dripping a bit of something oily looking. We took it to the repair shop today to see if they can tell from whence it comes. I used to have a bottle of something called "garage floor cleaner", a kind of clear liquid that did a good job. But I've looked in places like Lowe's and Home Depot for a similar thing and can't seem to find anything. Our cement is pretty new and I've been trying to keep it fairly clean. Any hints would be appreciated.
  24. Does anyone else on here have the same model convertible.....to measure the width of their top???
  25. ......for sale on eBay. Pretty nice looking....with original engine and numerous goodies. Just posting for fun and your viewing pleasure. (also two P15 converts for sale currently) Link to the ad: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Plymouth-Other-special-deluxe-1947-Plymouth-Special-Deluxe-/321023168541?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item4abe78d01d#v4-42
