  1. I can see it now......on a sign out front......."Dentures and Car Club Plaques Made While U Wait"
  2. Nice work, fellows.
  3. Guess I haven't figured this out yet.......how can you store pics on your own home computer, then transfer one of them to the forum?? Someone needs to give a step by step explanation to someone like me who is somewhat computer challenged. (I can link them from P Bucket just fine... with the old format. Haven't tried messing with the new setup.) How about pics stored on a thumb drive? I've been thinking of putting pics on one of those. Otherwise, I have a certain amount stored just on my desktop that I can't seem to transfer.
  4. I looked thru their website......they seem to have made it pretty tough to get thru to them, either by phone or email. Found this number on the net....you might try it..... Photobucket, Inc. James Goss PO Box 13003 Denver, CO 80201 US Phone: +1.7203814095 Got this from another site..........A simple phone call might do the trick. You can call Photobucket's headquarters in Broomfield, Colorado by calling 1.720.560.2072. This might get you where you need to go. It is really aggravating when these companies make it nearly impossible to get in touch with them. My pages opened up in their "new and improved" format.....but you can click on the thing that says to stay with the old style and it will go back to that format. I know where things pretty much are on my pages in the old format. Sign of old age I guess.
  5. Excellent looking paint job.........look forward to seeing it with all the trim re-installed. I like wire wheels also.
  6. For pricing, you can check the Old Car Value Guide or even the NADA used car guide....on line. And/or check Hemmings Motor News for asking prices of similar vehicles. Could also look to see if anything similar on ebay. The Olds does look nice and they usually have good power with a Rocket V8.
  7. Hope you are finding info you can use. Feel free to sign up and join in if you wish........always room for more.
  8. If you noticed, the Deluxe steering wheel......horn button in center instead of fancier chrome center and horn ring. I think a person can add the chrome center grill of a Spec Deluxe to the lesser dash. Also the Deluxe did not have arm rests and maybe only one sun visor. Deluxe had 9 inch diameter hubcaps while the S Dlx had 10 inch. Otherwise, pretty much the same car.
  9. Uhh......Oh........then I guess it doesn't take the core out of your apple.
  10. A couple in Vancouver have some really neat mid 50s Ford vehicles......some Canadian models also.........fun to see even if you're not a Ford fan. Link to a site with a story and pictures. http://unmuffled.wordpress.com/2012/06/10/such-an-amazing-old-car-collection-on-vancouver-island/
  11. I wonder if that white camper shell type bed cover comes with it originally or was added later. It is interesting that in Oz and some other places, what we know as a 56 Plymouth may be two or three years newer than 56 and have a mixture of other Mopar trim. They are fun to see. You probably know they made DeSoto trucks in some countries.
  12. Acts like it's grounded backwards......like when people get the pos and neg reversed on a stock old Mopar. Just guessing.
  13. I see you have some "ballast" in the bed of the truck. I guess if you got stuck, you could motor on home for a tow vehicle.
  14. Tod.....don't cha know those caps are "rare" and therefore worth a mint??? Sounds like the current fellow has the attitude like a bunch of current ebay sellers. You will pay big bucks cause you have an old car and these parts aren't growing on trees,
  15. Sounds good Ed. The lady that owns those pans makes a super good peach cobbler using an old cast iron skillet.
  16. I have one that looks pretty much like this one...... bought it used from another forum member a couple years ago......but haven't used it yet. Was going to run an aftermarket car stereo/c d player with it.
  17. We gave S & H Green Stamps at our family's clothing store back in the 50s and 60s. I still have a few books in my collection of vintage what-nots.
  18. Saw this on ebay......I think it's been discussed here before, but for the benefit of newer people decided to post it again. Those nuts on the headlight switch and whatever the other one is can be a real pain to loosen up. I believe this tool can be made in the privacy of your own workshop with some careful grinding upon a socket. "This tool was carefully designed and manufactured to perfectly fit the two slots in the switch nut while leaving room in the middle of the tool for any shaft to extend into. This was made from a high quality steel and has a 1/4 inch square drive so it can be used with all 1/4 drive tools, and it will fit into a 1/4 drive tool rack for easy storage." "This tool removes both the nuts with the 1/16th inch and the 1/8th inch slot."
  19. Jeff......not that it makes any difference to anything......but did that wagon come from Joplin? Seems like one was sold by a local fellow, and I wonder where he got it as you don't see those around here much.
  20. I used "POR 20" high heat aluminum made by POR 15. Costs about $18 or so for the small can.....but has held up well for me. Was applied with a small paint brush. It's been on there maybe 10 years.
  21. Have you checked with any of those big old car salvage yards that will do business on line?
  22. In the 20s here today. ...no more snow or ice. Went out to the Elks lodge at noon for blackeyed peas and cornbread. It was good - saw a lot of people we hadn't seen in a while as the old lodge building was destroyed by the tornado. The new building has just been open a few weeks now.
  23. There are assorted old Mopars in many of those scenes. Thanx Jon.
  24. So.......it's now 2:45 a.m. and we're home from the New Years Eve party we played in these folks barn/garage. They cleaned it up and decorated. Had about 20 people there. Weather still misting, with temp up at 31 degrees. Driving was OK. Here we are in front of a dandy collection of pots and pans............. Afterward, the host couple fixed breakfast for a few of us brave enough to stay up late. Kinda crazy in the music business......last New Years we played in a nice country club.....this year in a barn. Guess that's show biz.
