you a determined varmint for sure...but like I tell mums, won't get done sitting on the couch. Stick with it, its a process for sure. Your temps are up there also, hope your humidity is low. We got our rains and sure am happy and it has continued to rain so we staying high on the humidity chart and even mid 90's feels super muggy. Oh well, price we pay for not shoveling snow in the winter. Calling the water upgrade done, the filtering system is great upgrade also, set the new water heater in place the other day. Mowed yesterday and will cart off some stuff to the recycler, old dead water heater and a few pipes. Next up, major shop clean and sort....figure open the door on one end and the other door on the far end and just drive a skid loader through would work. I will be soaking wet with sweat in short order I am sure even with the fan running.

as I stated in my first response...ensure the lift is correct before proceeding....glad you took the time to measure this.

I would like to recommend the third brake light strobe unit that is selling for dirt cheap. These are effective device that will alert the following vehicle by enhancing the third light by sequencing the flash rate before going to steady on.....I have these in a couple of my cars and they are most effective. Some say they not legal and well they may be right....but no officer has seen fit to pull over any old car or motorbike for this in my area that I know of. I may well be the first one day.....lol I cannot attest to if this is available for 6 volt but they are out there for 12/24 volt. You do have to run with LED....incandescent will overload the unit.

Knuckleharley (Arthur Hines)
Plymouthy Adams replied to Plymouthy Adams's topic in Recognitions and Remembrances
I knew he was without close family members and also did not leave his place unattended knowing the vultures were watching his place to pick it clean if he was not there. His military career was a rough one, the onset of disease after exposure was just a matter of time. My hat I hold in hand in honor of his commitment to this country. There have been zero obits posted. My only concern is if he will get proper burial with military honors, I did not know his final wishes in regard to this and can only hope if so elected, his wishes will be honored. -

1941 Headlight trim ring, what years fit???
Plymouthy Adams replied to Randy Curran's topic in P15-D24 Forum
express what you have that DOES NOT WORK in regard to ID and OD of the trim ring. I have a pair of 41 Dodge hanging at ready to compare to yours when you post the dimension. As to if they fit the 41 Plymouth, I would never take a guess....but for certain, if you ring is even a tad bit out of kelter, fitting may be an issue with correct rings. Not much room here for error as only one small tab to tuck and a tad of the screw head the only means to secure in place. -
For those that have not upgraded, especially, your rear lights, I also recommend LEDs when and where possible in your build. In some cases they can be very easily detected as not stock and I can see where purist will be hesitant. But, if you enjoy driving your car between shows for points....the few minutes to removed and replace with stock for showing purposes is well worth it in safety to you and your vehicle while on the highways. I had originally had a H3 in my high mounted third light but opted for the less power/heat when I located an LED of sufficient lumens matching the H3. I have a few LEDs in most my builds as the increase in lighting would be beneficial.

I don't know, maybe challenge you wife to a race.......see if she can outdo the old man! Trick here is to look like you are doing your best while she smokes you into the dirt. Caution if this works at all, it likely will be a one time thing.

folks I am sure laugh at the number of cars I have in the barn and state that I will never get them all done in my lifetime. That is 100% true and IS Not my goal, I own them they bring me great joy knowing they are here and being protected till that day when maybe one of the grandkids would like the opportunity to do a bit of what I chose as a hobby. So like yourself, I set no deadlines...deadlines now make it a job and I have had my fair share of jobs over the years. This stuff is for fun and for expressing a bit of my creative side. I am closing in a bit on some of the major tasks about the house and yard this year despite the heat. Maybe if all goes well do the NEXT final addition to the barn (18 x 30) come fall and then settle in maybe for a bit of body repair/welding come winter. If not, well if I continue to have good health, there is always next year.

I will do a bit of an update here. While I made a trip to the farmers market for a nice watermelon and cantaloupe, I also snagged a full box of tomatoes. I have never before seen such nice and well boxed tomatoes at the market. Price was also excellent so I told mums if she is willing, I will help her with processing these into salsa. Bought the box, we did two cookoffs with these tomatoes, zero waste and with what she made earlier from our garden, we processed right at 3 3/4 gallons of salsa. right place at the right time with the purchase of the fresh tomatoes....pic of them as they came out of the box to be washed.

I give you a lot of credit out and cutting welding grinding in the current weather patterns. We did of late get some rain in our area, much needed for sure, but now the trade off for that is muggy due to the humidity increase. Stick with it, you seem to be whittling it down at a steady pace. I have alternated my visits under the house on the water upgraded to be every other day. Got the hot plumbed first then the cold, little resupply then ran out of cold PEX tubing so had to resupply. Just a bit of work left and it will be done deal. The new whole house 4 stage filtering is a big improvement and ridding myself of the old iron pipe is a plus. I had no idea the amount of iron pipe in place as it was buried with short copper stubs to the fixtures. such is life in a 116 year old farm house. While not today, I plan to sleeve the new lines with insulation.

once the surface hardening has been compromised the wear to the remaining metal is rather rapid....
-
cam to lifter is direct contact and X lift as ground into the cam all relates to the components with no wear....failure to attain the lift is either cupping of the lifter due to wear or eroded metal on the toe of the cam lobe and could/often be a combination of both. You will need to ensure the lift is correct in order to proceed in your troubleshooting.

Officer Grandy from the sheriff's office in NC called me today and informed me that Arthur passed away and I do not know any more details at this time. Their records show where while back I had asked for a welfare check as he dropped off the forum and would not answer his phone thus they called me. Nothing in the papers at this time that I can find. I will stay on this a bit and see what I can learn. Rest in peace knuckleharley.....

Like your seat cover, somewhere around here I should have about 6 of these covers...they new old stock and only reason I grabbed them was if I should ever need a pattern. Colors and patterns similar to what you have. Serious old school stuff. just commenting, NOTHING FOR SALE here......!

install 6 volt positive ground alternator
Plymouthy Adams replied to Keefer's topic in P15-D24 Forum
the use of the older limited ampmeter with the use of new (normally high output) alternator is considered a risk to damage overheat/fire etc and why today they defer to a volt meter. In the early period of ampmeter and alternators these were changed to shunted (mopar) and sampled the current flow to show discharge and charge only with no true indication of actual current only direction of current flow. IF your alternator is an output equiv to stock and staying positive ground....should stay as is. Exceeding the capacity of your amp gauge is not considered wise. -
Not seen these either for a Dodge, they such good looking trucks it was easily recognizable and they did not need the maker name every corner and angle of the vehicle...😄 But will admit was over 40 years ago I last built a Dodge truck. I have a 41 International Harvester that would be good to find so IH plates... As an idea, you can get the brand X, mill the lettering off and draw out and cut RAM heads to put in its place.....because it is not out there, you can 1, create a market, 2, be totally and distinctively different. looking to see some creativity here...!!!!

Greg, like the pic-I-nik paraphernalia, is your water jug by chance crockery lined? I have an old Alladin that is as such with aluminum cap and cup and they are very hard to come by these days in serviceable condition. Probably have fully 4 outfitted picnic baskets but just the one water jug. Photo lifted from e-bay but just what I have

last couple particles that ended up in my eyes came from my hair and since have been more alert to wearing a beanie cap to prevent some of this and trying to remember to lower my head and remove the cap and whisk my hair free of likely particles. Most uncomfortable for sure to have trash in your eye. I have been dragging my feet going under the house to get onto the new water pipe installation. Going over the drawing I made I am lacking a couple small items (running change) but nothing to really hold me back at this time.

yesterday's cars as that of today were engineered to perform with peak torque at lowest RPM to sustain said torque associated with the gearing to drive the vehicle of X weight over X road conditions at the time.....as roads and technology improved, the number have gone down needed to perform. OD cars are geared to travel the posted highway speed at 200 RPM below peak torque with the 200 RPM in reserve to crest overpasses and slight rises in the highway without need to kick down to a lower ratio. Mopeds today are as fast and capable of top end speeds most drive these hulks today shy totally against sustaining. Any speeds above the selected gears to match peak torque will require RPM...sometimes a substantial RPM increase....don't forget weight in the equation. A well maintained and tuned vintage car while cannot achieve many levels of performance of today's modern car, they can still be driven with regard to their limit safely and at speeds not to impede flow of traffic. If you choose not to drive at posted speeds, then utilize secondary highway and enjoy the scenery and the joy of driving.
