  1. While I am not saying there may be difficulties and excess reserves..be aware that 68% of all statistics are made up on the spot..(just like this one was) Don't believe everything you hear..as an analyst for 16 years we could made any figure look good or bad according to what we were trying to sell/promote at the moment. The merger of Chrysler/Damiler to prevent a hostile takeover and concession made to protect the work force were never honored by the Damiler group..it is spiraling downhill..I have no silver bullet but hate to see such as this happening.
  2. Johnny..In the comment above your last entry by myself..I was still referring to the Frapper page..the map is not appearing though the individuals and their photos are still on the site.
  3. under members you can see all who signed on and their thumbnails..
  4. what did you call me???? lol
  5. I have more cars with white raised lettering and smaller whitewalls though the 54 with the WWW's this worked fine also..they were dingy and stained with red Georgia clay (that stuff is nasty) when I got it, this cleaned them up good. The stuff I use is trade name B52..it is a brown soap and I just spray it on...aggitate it with a paint brush and the road grime, brake residue and stuff just rolls right off...my local Ace hardware carries it..don't look for all Ace stores to have it as this is the only one that carries it in my area...they stock Ace line but not limited to just Ace products..that is the owner's choice.
  6. Yes Greg is maintaining the list of members that have said they could help should you be on the road and experience trouble. That list is generally guarded and upon request from a traveler..members along their intended route will be sent of line back to the requester. We also had a map where each person registered himself on the map and idnetified with a push pin..I have this link on my computer at home but for the life of me cannot remember the name of the site. Does anyone have that map handy???
  7. anything is possible..who really knows...but most of the trophy stuff I have seen is single screw base..this is offset dual mount for directional mounting...
  8. Hey at least you were thinking about it...upon close inspection it is a bit detailed for its size..anatomically correct should I say. Its a novelty I guess..would fit in very well with the curio's and such from last weeks novelty and trinkets thread.
  9. I have seen things like this appear in a TREND fashion..seems one will sell and out of the woodwork they appear..like cockroaches when the lights go out. I had wanted a brake guage also...but never could get one at a reasonable price...after using one though I do believe in them as it is simplicity in it truist form for these brakes..the speed and accuaracy of a one time set is hard to beat..yes you can tweak them in without the tools..but the tool is just the cats meow. I scored a good windshield frame for the Int'l. Fiar price..was years ago..was hoping the kid would get the fever to work on this truck..not a chance..he really has no interest in cars outside of running their wheels off. Since selling my 41 Dodge truck years ago I have not had a reason to keep prices current..all things are going up in this hobby..some faster than others. I was surprised at the increase in AC kits... I don't see the Plymouth clock coming down anytime..this was on my want list..has now been crossed off since this past swap meet...found a few nice pieces including the donor headlight housings for a certain set of lights you know about...(Ed. J.) These have now been prepped and awaiting assembly. So far they looking good...time will tell...
  10. I would venture to say that the one that sold for over 1K was a situation where the guy sent his truck out to be restored..the original was rough so the man told the owner he needed one and then contacted his buddy to put it on e-bay..between the guy running up his bid and the guy who requested the part the poor slob was left paying this amount and the two guys split the profit...I could be wrong but I doubt it...on my Int'l, this is a part that suffers the same fate as the Dodge. My 41 dodge frame was in decent condition when I got it.
  11. Norm..that particular lady has clothes on and her hair is not flowing in the wind above her head. I found a website that had about 15 nude ladies with different poses and such but not qite the same..this little figurine is also only 3 1/2 inches tall, staggered/offset bolts on the base to allow installation in one position only..that is what makes me believe it is a radiator cap ornament. Appreciate you trying..still do not and may never really know its origins. Original posted picture.. http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=1787
  12. nla
  13. four stars on your alternator selection...
  14. Dennis...I have always said that I can screw something up a whole lot cheaper than paying someone to mess it up...
  15. We have historical plates here in Georgia..car must be 25 years old or older..car tag is normal registration price and is renewed annually..the tag has an embossed antique car on the tag..very nice..again..same as regular tag in cost and can be used year round...we do have some pluses here in this state for old cars. I had this tag on my Sunbeam until just this past year when the YOM law was updated to include my 66 model and I then got a correct weight and county coded tag for my car.
  16. Here in Georgia..using the YOM tag is very simple and very OLD CAR friendly...simply take your tag to DMV for inspection..they cross the current registration to this tag and you display the YOM tag..You must however keep have and keep current tag and registration in the car. Cost...none...
  17. definitely from the mother's gene pool.....
  18. Its hard to retire a car after so many years of faithful service to you..kind of like having to put an animal down to to ill health...
  19. The mat could be a bit out of shape by it being rolled for shipping and if stored for a period of time..may hold that shape a bit..do you have the ability to run a small electric heater and warm the interior of the car and maybe allow it to lay flat..other than that I have no other ideas at the moment.
  20. Hey Don..yes Gary and his buds made it through right on the time he predicted. Did a bit of socaializing..gave them the nickel tour and they went about their way. Ran into him at the swap meet..he found a few nice items as did I ...we both did well. I further met a few people that are not that far from me with parts cars at their place. Maybe some other trades/deals later. I scored a part today that I just had to have..not needed by any means but for the price I had to get it..It is a maked lady in chrome..about 3 1/2 inches tall...she be standing on an octogon base with offset screw holes..her arms is extended over her head..her brest upthrusting and her hair is long and flowing..for a dollar..had to get it..make have to use this to put in place of the original wiper knob hole that I will not be using. I really think this is one of the mascots that bolt to a radiator cap cover from the 30's. Other parts scored..many parts seen and some very nice but just cannot buy them all....tried to concentrate on items needed..
  21. Based on my score and present address..I must refrain from posting said score for fear of being run out of town on a rail..
  22. Norm..Friday morning..it is just past 6 AM...ready to hit the road for the swap meet... 40 degrees..rain has moved through..expecting highs in the upper 50's Hope I can believe them.
