  1. I was looking just yesterday at their catalog for the 48 Plymouth stuff..for sure the clip they list is correct for the belt line..rest assured that they do not have the clip for the brow wrapping around the front fender from the headlight door center. Lou I think even called them about that..no go..that will be a custom made unit..you can use their generic cut to fit Number: 2356 for .75 each for that application.
  2. Thanks Don..I knew I left that somewhere..glad you found it..take 10 percent finder fee and send the balance back to me...thanks...
  3. I got rid of two nags years ago..the wife in a divorce and giving her the horse...both left the same day..
  4. If he is messing with us..I got caught...
  5. The flat area behind the rear seat and under the glass...
  6. Got to thinking about this..what was the particulars on this barn of treasures..that represents a huge chunk of change regardless of thier value yesterday versus todays price. Why the welded door....was this a secret stash of "spirited" cars...chop shop gone bust..eccentric who has to be related to me and allows me ownership of the stash through heirship...how do I claim my inheiritance?
  7. Brad..seeing as how just the one brake messed up and the flex lines are rather new...chances are you had a piston stick in a cruded up cylinder..it was a ticking bomb and could have given you trouble anytime..chances are with the just the short runs you had been making it was not enough to rear its ugly head...may explain your low gas mileage and the fact you can only beat 3 out of 4 j-cars off the line...fix the brake and beat them all...lol
  8. If you have a good 3:54 laying about..put it in...man will you see the difference in cruise speed at that same busy sound from the engine with the 4:+ ratio..just be sure the whine is not coming from a chasing police crusier
  9. I can see their wisdom in that...they are renting a running car...that is an owners' expense..when you rent a car from Avis and it breaks down, who do you think ought to pay for the repair...you on the other hand provide insurance to protect them from loss due to you putting their property at risk.
  10. I run my flathead Plymouth up to about 50 in first gear...of course I only have a two speed automatic and a 3:54 rear gear that is why I will leave this car stock. Still amazes me as to how smooth this thing runs. Back in the day you people would cringe at how the very car you are driving was rev'd and driven. These cars took some heavy abuse and are still ticking away.
  11. I have never tried this myself but I tend to think it was covered here once before and was considered not a direct swap out...
  12. I guess it could look that way to some people..it is the first reference I have ever hear though..
  13. Trust me that horse was walking...
  14. 10..I knew there was two ways to look at the answer on the one I missed...one of them twisty types.
  15. This is the type stuff dreams are made of..saw some really fine cars in there..even a Seven?
  16. After many dead ends and such I was at the point of sending an order to Restoration Specialties..still will but no in the hurry as I just got my flat head 5/16-24 screws coming in. We now have a fastener store in town..new...nice..lots of specialty stuff. Anyway..am asking what people used for antis-queak whre the fenders bolt to the body..this car did not use welting..41 Dodge..looked to be like a cloth type tape about 1 inch by just about 1/16 maybe a tad thicker...is this stuff like a tape or what? Is the FHL1116 in restoratino speciality catalog what I need...closest thing I have found..
  17. Brad..sure glad you made it across the bridge..they don't play games there..I think it is still an automatic tow and that is not cheap... How you gonna sleep at night knowing that your car is somehow deceiving the geneal public with that faux radio scam...I'll have to send you one of my infamous "Geebo" anything for a dollar certificates. If you see PJ with the red Tiger..he should know about the certificate and also the drawing of him in his BMW..however I think he still gets a bit red about the face on that one. Bloodpressure is an awesome tool if you know what I mean.
  18. without a google check am saying 39
  19. Being a car and not truck..the battery as mentioned earlier shold be under the rear seat accessable by removing the seat bottom. I remember this from looking at the 40 DeSoto up the road from the house one day.
  20. nla
  21. Gonna try and get you a quote on shipping before the weekend. Tomorrow I got the kids coming in for dinner plus the Moo will be here..Sal is making her famous Shish-kabobs..yummy...these things are a treat..we always get red, green and yellow bellpeppers to make them a colorful and delicious meal.
  22. They sure seem like they are glued after sitting in the sun for umpteem years. I carefully removed mine after breaking the seal between the stainless and the rubber with a dull putty knife..and even then it is still a trip getting it out...
  23. I cannot recall the measured difference between the 49/50 and the later 51/52 door where the bulge at the leading edge starts below the beltline molding but there is a huge difference..say over an inch..this I inspected years ago as I had a set of doors located for the burb but the difference was the bulge and one higher than the other. I did not investigate the door/dog house swap as an option so left it as a no-cigar kinda deal.
  24. actually a 16 horse Briggs and Stratton is a very smooth engine.. First order of business would be to determine the fuel pressure..the rest is purely electronics...but without proper presure you deliverly during injection time may be low and sporatic at best.
  25. Man knows a good piece of ash when he sees it...sorry...will sit out next three threads...
