  1. Been driving this one regularly to work since 2010. Here it is at Leigh High School in San Jose last summer while checking up on a paving project. I got a new job last fall and the commute went to 35 miles each way, three days a week. It was tuff! I have since upgraded to another vehicle, but the truck gets better gas mileage! Ear plugs required!
  2. It's simple...the radiator just bolts to the core support with its angle tabs that are part of the side frame of the radiator. there are (3) 3/8" fine thread bolts each side. It helps to chase the threads on the weld nuts on the core support first. The core support is bolted from the side to the filler panels - these are either 3/8" or 5/16" bolts or a combo of both. There are also the two bolts at the bottom that hold the core support (and the front clip) to the frame. I think these might be 7/16" bolts.
  3. I wouldn't lose any sleep over the civil defense marks. Probably better to have them anyway especially now with Putin and his shenanigans. I wonder if they'd work equally well for isis, Tehran, or Kin Jung Un? lol
  4. looks like a Willys Aero parked next to the Studebaker sedan. Cool little cars. The dude I bought my truck from owns one.
  5. This one has "living" patina on it....all that lichen. Who can say they've successfully cultivated a garden on the surface of their truck? lol This tells us that the truck is facing south ... That's a unique ash tray it has...never seen one like that before! Did the tree grow into the tail gate or was the truck backed up against it?
  6. Ah... far out, man
  7. The bezel is pretty big, what if you just cut the dash so the knobs will fit. Will the bezel cover all of the cut outs and leave enough "meat" left to mount it? I know you don't want to cut anything up, and you've probably already thought of this....Just trying to think of an option that would allow you to keep it!
  8. I like the bumper stickers she wore in '84!
  9. Way to go, awesome find! One more back in action!
  10. Are all of Hank's radios of the same knob and button configuration? I'm sure you don't want to modify the dash panel at this point...
  11. MOPAR ALLEY is show in the bay area, coming up soon. June 14. I plan on being there!
  12. Why go to Pomona looking for Dodge parts when members here have all the parts we need, plus others on ebay. It's a lot of hot asphalt to traverse amidst a sea of homies, gangstas (lokes and OG's), and thugs....haha! During last time at Pomona, I left empty handed, but a "run-in" led to the eventual acquisition of my fuselage c-body (the only C-body there that time...an equal sad state of affairs). So Pomona has been good to me.
  13. http://dodgepilothouseclub.com/know/B4_manual/B-4_engine.pdf page 41? Not the same exactly but the same info...
  14. Barry: Your sill filler panel is also shown mounted inside-out and down about 1" from where it should be. The top should be above the pitted area. Perhaps someone moved it down because the original holes have rusted out? The only problem with this design is it allows dirt to collect in the "sandwiched" assembly of rubber and sheet metal, then when it all gets wet, and stays wet, you see what happens.
  15. Before I read the rest of the post, I wondered for a second if the paint started to peel off on the way home!
  16. With the exception of the Ford truck, satellite TV dishes, and the two story house in the background of photo #3, this photo looks like it could have been taken in the early 50's! nice!
  17. That's really cool. A sea of A, B, and C bodies! The black car on the closest train at the bottom is a Newport 4dr HT. Just to the right looks like a couple Dusters, then a Monaco or Polara wagon (w/ wood grain siding). Then a dark green Dart. Then a couple of coronets, and another Dart. Doesn't look like any hub caps have been installed yet....
  18. That's what had to be done on my "fusie" Chrysler with 440 / thermoquad carb. The new gas just wouldn't allow the engine to be tuned 100%. It had a lean miss. So larger main jets helped it out. I wouldn't say the new gas is the culprit of Merle's experience, however it sure as hell didn't help! It also supposedly attacks lead solder (like on your floats)... It's really too bad we have no choice in the fuel we have to buy. Especially considering the taxes imposed on it.
  19. For a stock front end in new or good condition, there are really no adjustments needed other than toe-in/out. If you have a bent axle, than that's another story. The shop manual has all the specs. To adjust toe, simply get a helper and a steel tape. Measure to the tire tread, front band back, aligned with the spindle. The center link can also be moved left or right by screwing in or out at each tie rod, separately, to center the steering. In theory, though, if you start threading the center link on both tie rods at the same time it should be pretty close.
  20. On Hwy 84 just east of Hwy 1, CA Coast, between Pescadero and Half Moon Bay. This is a google street shot, but I have seen this first hand. The google images got better before I could go back to take a pic myself!
  21. Merle - what about advance? Is the Distributor advancing properly (vacuum and weights).
  22. Nice pics, thanks for sharing. I see you made it to Lodi Brewing. And hail on the ground along Victor road! was that Sunday? Quite a stash o' parts Dave has up there too....!
  23. Some pics from the weekend...(in order) Sure liked that '56 Dodge Wagon. Looks like all it needs is a tail light, oil change, and some fresh gas! Oh and a new afghan for the front seat! The last photo of the truck was taken around 1 pm on Easter Sunday.
  24. I sure was a moving moment when we all were able to cheer for George over the phone, AND to hear it put a smile on his face. So sad, but thank you for letting us know. My In-laws and wife remember meeting him at the 2014 BBQ and they too are sad to hear the news. RIP George. I'm sure our trucks will outlive us all!
