  1. Should check your points with a dwell meter before checking your timing.
  2. With an electric pump, I have a plastic filter in the back and a metal filter near the carb inlet, no mechanical pump.
  3. Sniper, you are the man!!! Thank you. Found they are available from Unity lighting directly, also from CGfordparts.com. Thanks again for the additional part numbers.
  4. Anyone have a source for some 4015A fog light bulbs?
  5. GL 1 is required to protect the brass components.
  6. Check out "Russell's Automotive" for T5 - 5 speed adapter for 1933-1959 Chrysler products with flathead 6 engines.
  7. Check out Penn Grade oil, when I emailed them, I got a phone call back explaining their products.
  8. Should be fine as long as it is GL-1 rated gear oil. I did mine 3 years ago with assembly lube and GL-1, been working great.
  9. Yes, one time a lady pulled directly in front of me, scared the crap out of me, but was very thankful to avoid a miss hap.
  10. I have the same concern at times with a vintage 535 flasher.
  11. I did the same and was quickly criticized for not knowing that the 3rd tab on the flasher is for the indicator lite!!!! It is now wired correctly with the green indicator functioning and I added a buzzer so I can hear when they are on, otherwise my wife lets me know.
  12. There is a weekly cruise in near me every Fri. 4 - 8, no fee, you get a white ticket for a $20 cash prize, also blue raffle tickets are available to purchase. Free cookies and water along with a food vender truck and ice cream truck. There are many shows in the area ranging from $10 - $15 entrance fee. Also there are several groups that have cruises, which I enjoy participating in.

    Oil filters

Walmart also no longer stocks the Castrol Extended performance oil for my daily drivers, was able to order and have it shipped to the house for no shipping fee.
  14. Vapor lock or percolation to me result in the same thing, but either one usually occurs sitting with engine off, I may stand to be corrected. I was thinking a restriction in your manual pump which would cause the e pump ineffective???? I completely eliminated the manual pump and use a Carter P4259.
  15. Depending on how the electric pump is plumbed in, is it possible the E pump is hitting a restriction through the manual pump? Haven't experienced vapor lock myself, but if I understand correctly, that occurs when a vehicle is not running and the fuel evaporates from the system due to excessive heat. Asking for a friend.
  16. I fabricated a centering tool out of PVC plastic pipe, worked great, no leak after two years.

    Oil filters

My local Auto Value parts store still has Wix 51080 available, which has paper material on each end, I have a note to use the Fram rubber ends on the Wix filter. I sourced a Purolater P40 oil canister from a pick a part yard from a Cranbrook, found a vintage P40 filter on ebay and a Wix 51201 equivalent at my local store.
  18. After a week of going through my check list for my 52 Cranbrook, which included replacing the right rear wheel cyl.($85 ouch)!!! Was able to take it out for a drive last evening. Exciting to begin another summer of car shows and cruises.

    spark plugs

Increase in compression by adding oil is usually an indication of worn rings. The higher the number the hotter with Autolite plugs.
  20. Mine starts on page 205 for transmission info.
  21. At least it is entertaining and good for a laugh!!!
  22. Have you checked the points setting with a dwell meter?
  23. If I remember, SBC is the same.
  24. We've all been there!!!!!
