  1. I'm glad your wifey doesn't approve - it means I won't be copying you if I throw those images up on the doors my my truck! LOL Thanks for the idea.
  2. As someone that hasn't purchased any interior parts yet or been around to see different examples built by different people - can you gentlemen post up some pictures of interiors and the source - both examples of "good" and "bad" would be appreciated.
  3. I don't suppose you would share some nice high quality scans/pictures of the instructions that were included in the box?
  4. Interesting widget. I think I might have to keep my eyes peeled for one.
  5. Yup - I need most of it for my project and figured it was best to buy it all and sort through it and see where I end up. It was far easier to buy a large package than to piece meal it out over the next several months.
  6. I'm glad to see Paul's trucks find a home. I know I can't wait till my care packages start to arrive from him.
  7. They are 25" engines.
  8. "Rebuilt" is about like the word "Restored" - I've learned to not take too much stock in either of those words without putting my eyes on the item in question.
  9. A couple of Pilothouses showed up at my local 4th of July show - both V8 swaps - one of which I know is a full Dakota Swap and has been for sale for a while with some really ugly wheels on it.. glad to see they changed the wheels. lol

  10. Whats so funny about it? Sorry I couldn't resist! I might take you up on that offer some day I have some friends out in Colorado that I am past time to go visit - I'm sure a really long day to come visit would be well worth it.
  11. What about the advance for the distributor? The mechanical and vacuum advance still functioning correctly?
  12. So after I went to the local 4th of July car show to drool on some vintage iron (including two 48-50 Pilothouse hot rods, at least one was a full Dakota swap), I went home to start moving and organizing parts to see what I have and what I don't have. I still need to do some work on the organization, but I did take a stab at powerwashing the big chunks of dirt off the chassis and the bed pieces. I'm thinking I need to assemble the bed just so I have less risk at damaging all the individual parts. Its almost a shame that I'm not using this engine, transmission, or rear end.... lol
  13. So for discussion sake - What would be your trans choice for a daily driver capable of highway speeds and lots of miles a year?
  14. And the parts keep multiplying!
  15. I have on of the WIlcap adapters that I plan on using when I install a Chrysler 265 into my 28 Ford RPU - I'm building to to be a cross country rig so I spent the extra money so I could have an aluminum bell-housing and a T5 transmission to cut out some weight for fuel economy and a little more pep for acceleration. I'm not sure I would go this route for a car or pickup that natively had a Dodge/Chrysler flathead installed. - most of these original installations had provisions for the clutch and brake and they are pretty easy to adapt to a T5 for less money than the Wilcap setup while maintaining the factory linkage for the pedals. Just my 2 cents. Your mileage might vary.
  16. I wouldn't keep it on mine.
  17. Took me a while to find it - this might help:
  18. One thing to note - your truck has an air throttled governor installed under the carb - so that will effect the length of the arm you have circled and would require the piece to be longer than the typical application by the thickness of the air governor. Personally.... I would remove the governor and that would put you back to using a stock piece (that is missing). But I also like to live life dangerously. My only experience with those governors is I have a set currently under the dual carb setup I have.... someone before me has removed the butterfly plates so they obviously didn't care for them either..... lol
  19. Eh - I'm 35 and most of the neighbors and friends all have kids, so yeah - we at least need to start the evening with a kid friendly movie - something animated perhaps with a few jokes that go over kids heads. lol Although Vanishing Point would be awesome on the big screen in the barn.... I don't think I would get much social participation around here. You have neighbors too close, I have to draw them in for social interaction.... lol I'm far enough away from neighbors that I could crank the sound up on anything and no one would care.
  20. Nice conversion! So - is that a single outlet, going into a 10psi residual pressure check valve, then into a proportioning valve and out to the respective ends of the vehicle? I need to get a master cylinder to make my swap to disc brakes yet, so this is perfect timing.
  21. I've threatened for a couple of years to have "Movie in the Barn" night. I have a projector that could handle it, and sound - I just need to toss up a sheet or a white wall or something and have an event. Make it kid friendly and invite all the neighbors. Silent movies are an awesome idea... but I don't think I would get many visitors in my area. lol
  22. The clutch isn't hydraulic - it is shaft driven. The pedal turns a shaft that is attached to the throwout fork that should move the throwout bearing and activate the fingers on your clutch. There could be broken parts, missing or sheared key, etc.... You'll have to check the linkage first. Its been a while since I have been under the truck- but you should be able to pull off the access cover and watch the linkage move the throwout bearing from under the truck with someone in the cab moving the pedal.
  23. That's definitely a fuzzy area for me as well. I know they started putting WC transmissions in GM product in 1993 (some S10 models included), but I know that some of those GM installed transmissions used the "Ford bolt pattern" For instance I have a Camaro WC transmission that has the "Ford bolt pattern", longer input shafts like most of the Fords, but has 26 splines for the GM clutch disc.
  24. Perfect timing - I was just going through this thread to help with my build/swap on the recommendation of another forum member. I see you used a Camaro T5, but it still uses the "chevy bolt pattern" - I assume that means its a NWC unit?
