Alaska48 Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 Does anyone use their oldie as their daily driver??? If not, what is everyone else rolling around in? My DD to work is a 2005 Impala. I hate it, its almost as bad as my 48 Plymouth trying to start and run, but its got 4 wheels and a windshield. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 I drive a 95 Chevy Lumina APV V6 as a daily driver and plan on keeping it as long as I can. Body doesn't rust and I like the way it rides. In fact, I'm considering bringing it back to a like new status with new interior and a paint job. Roof is faded a little. Only has 81,000 miles on it now. Wife drives an 02 Kia Spectra GSX that now has about 38,000 miles on it. Quote
Normspeed Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 My daily driver to the train station is an 88 Honda Shadow 600. If it rains, I drive a little Ford Festiva. Come the weekend, all I drive is my 53 Plymouth wagon. Same for road trips, it's the wagon. I've had my nice old 86 Bronco parked for a year or more since gas went so high. Quote
Young Ed Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 Here it is in its former glory. Like Norm I think I should fix it up too. Needs a headliner some rust repair(the front fenders are 1/2 gone) and a paint job. 172K and runs like new. Quote
hkestes41 Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 It is my 48 Club Coupe. When it came time for my youngest daughter to have a car we cut a deal. If she would take my 2000 Camry I would get a Plymouth. Then we told her mom . Mom needless to say thought I was crazy (and maybe I am) and said we couldn't really afford to buy me 2 cars so I pipe up with "I'll drive it every day, I don't need 2 cars" . So far it has worked out OK. I have only had a few instances where we had to do some shuffling of rides like when I was doing the front suspension and brakes. Quote

50PlymouthSled Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 My DD was my 50, and since that is apart, I'm now rolling around in a 55 Mercury lead sled. Yeah, I don't care a lot about gas mileage, as you can tell. Lol. Quote

Paul Beard Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 '07' Chrysler 300. as soon as it gets out of the body shop. A deer jumped on the windshield right at the roof two weeks ago this sunday. Hope to have it back by end of this week. Quote
Bodacious Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 I suppose this won't get a newb any points here. But my current DD is a modified '95 Corvette with a very efficient 388 LT1 stroker built by me. It makes 400/450 HP/TQ at the rear wheels and is capable of nearly 29 mpg on the highway. It does prefer premium though, with it's 11:1 static compression ratio. It will soon share DD duties though with a modified Plymouth flattie hot rod with which I expect to achieve similar mpg numbers, using carbs and with no electronic engine management. I doubt the RWHP numbers will be as good, though. But the smiles per mile numbers will be at least as much. Quote

anthonyb Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Up until about four years ago, it was my 41 2dr sedan. Then I had an imposed requirement for using a company car. The Plymouth is still the ride of choice on weekends. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Alaska48, I don't go over 3500 lbs towing. Stock brakes. I scare easy. Quote
