:) After 7 months of agressive radiation and chemo it looks like I might be out of the woods. Throat and neck cancer is a very painful experience. The inside and outside of your neck are reduced to raw hamburger.Last week I had surgery to remove the lymph nodes on the right side of my neck where a PET scan showed 2 small lumps left. Yesterday the hospital called on the biopsy....Negative....Tomorrow they remove a drainage tube in my neck and the doc says about a month for everything to heal completly but I know it will be a year or so till I am my old self. The treatment robbed me of a lot of my strength...I lost 70 lbs. and a lot of that was muscle...I want to thank everyone who sent me the neat postcards which helped keep my mind off getting depressed and for those who kept me on their prayer list......god bless......regards, John Burke

To quote Bones "I am just an old country doctor" to quote Kirk "then heal this rock":D Tell us more about your post card collection and what you would still like to get?

I am making plans to install the carbeurators you sent me in the next month or so. I may need to seek your advice. Can you fly out to assist if required?

I like all kinds of post cards but my most favorite ones are real photo post cards showing town scenes, old cars and other unusual views...I also like the greeting post cards for holidays such as halloween, thanksgiving etc....Don, there is a good chance I will be making a trip to Franklin this summer in which case I will swing by and let you treat me to some good B-B-Q.....Here is a neat postcard showing the transition from horse to car.....John

John, that is a great card. I worked for a gentleman who lived to be 98. When he was in his 20s which would have been in the 1920s he said he worked with a guy who had been in prison and had robbed a bank on horseback!! I will dig through my cards. I have a 400 lb man from Nebraska somewhere here. Something for you to aim for. Eric

Glad to hear the good news, John. Hope you don't take a whole year to get back in shape.

Go for a drive in the roadster every day...that big grin will speed up the healing process!!!!

It's good to hear you're on the mend. You might try some "Mopar Therapy" where you go tinkering whenever you want. All your friends want to help you, even the four-wheeled ones.
