pflaming Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 Gonna go down to 39 tonight and stay around 55- 62 through next Tuesday. Can't get too cold, the neighbor's tree across the street is starting to bloom. Kinda like it out here in Fresno moved here from Omaha, which has the worst weather of all! Sorry about that Frankie but I've been in Omaha. Good football though, if you like football! Quote
busycoupe Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 It is snowing here in Massachusetts -----again! Schools are closed today. There is not much on the roads yet, only a couple of inches, but it is supposed to change to freezing rain after lunch. That is probably why the schools closed. There is about a foot of old snow in my yard now, layered with ice. It looks like it will be a while before I get the Dodge out. Not much to do but read the forum and Hemmings Classic Car. ... Not such a bad day! Quote
vanbuskirk Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 We are lucky. Missouri, Kentucky and others got freezing rain and power outages. Bob Quote
knighthawk Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 had some ice and a trace of snoww, all will melt away today, should be in upper 40's.......never would guess -----40's would feel WARM !! Quote

Sorry about that Frankie but I've been in Omaha. Good football though, if you like football! I lived in Omaha in the 70's. I remember 1974 on January 21 it was 33 below zero and on July 21 it was 110. That was a 143 degree swing in temperature in 6 months. I am glad I live in Texas now. Quote
RobertKB Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 I thought it was time this thread appeared again just for a little while. Fred must be too shy to restart it! If winter is not in Manitoba it certainly has arrived in Alberta. It is cold and going to get colder and we have a blizzard storm warning in effect for tomorrow afternoon through Saturday. I will post pics if it turns out interesting! Quote

Young Ed Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Yup Fred we've been having some very decent winter weather so far. I've only had to wear something heavier then a hooded sweatshirt 1-2 days. If the weather holds for another 2 days we'll be taking Dads new 66 wagon to the holiday banquet for our POC chapter. Would be the first time its been nice enough to drive an old car since I can remember. Quote

Gary Manes Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Ah, fond memories of when we had a NAFTA meeting in Winnipeg in mid December the year before I retired. It was suppose to be in Vancouver, but Canada made a last minute change. No explanation was ever provided, but the Mexican delegation swore revenge. Fortunately, In D.C. I did allot of walking and bike riding--all year round. I was the only one with warm clothing. Boy, I wish my New Yorker and Desoto were in the kind of shape your Chrysler is. Should be a piece of cake getting her back in show room condition. Quote
Fireball Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 I stand corrected, it's snowing like there's no tomorrow. I like it! Quote
