PatS.... Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 I was looking at this real nice 50 Chrysler Coupe and noticed something unusual about it. Can anyone else pick up on it? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1950-Chrysler-Windsor-Two-Door-Coupe-ORIGINAL-Excellent_W0QQitemZ110210752495QQihZ001QQcategoryZ6181QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 It's Canadan? Dennis:confused: Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 Now Pat just because it has a back seat don't mean it is not a business coupe..there is a lot of business that can be conducted back there.....as there is no rear vent glass..club coupe Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 The guy can't make up his mind if he's selling a 50 model or 49. Title says 50 Chrysler, description says 49 Chrysler. Quote
greg g Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 Well business coupes don;t have back seats, and it a Canuck in Texas, not being a chrysler aficianado I don;t pick out anything else unles its a three speed instead of the more common semi auto. Quote
PatS.... Posted January 9, 2008 Author Report Posted January 9, 2008 Dennis got it right away...I wouldn't think there would that many Canadian made cars that far south in your Excited States Beautiful car...it's a '50 Tim, I know nothing of any business going on in back seats...nothing Quote
Tom Skinner Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 The Odometer reads 47,000 + and the description of the Vehicle indicates it has 99,000. Tom Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 It has what appears to be green carpeting on the floors.....not original in my opinion. (Or might be grey or blue.) Says its a "business couple". Vehicle Description 1949 Chrysler Windsor Two Door Business Couple. This car is in excellent untouched original condition throughout. This includes the Black paint, blue interior and six cylinder drive train. Quote
1941Dodge Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Well, that is a club coupe, and it is not worth that much in todays market, everyone thinks that just because they have an old car, they can sell it for big money! And the carpet is not original, and if you want to get really crazy, the tires, oil, gas, etc. are not original! Well, he said it was untouched! Therefore it should be untouched! Quote
Young Ed Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Guys when did carpet start for mopars? Plymouth had it in some models in 52. Mopar usually gave stuff to Chrysler first and then let it trickle down through the rest of the lines. Quote
PatS.... Posted January 10, 2008 Author Report Posted January 10, 2008 Both Canadian 49 Chryslers I have owned had carpet only in the back seat area, black rubber mat up front. I think the carpet was added on this car later from a US car. Quote
JerseyHarold Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 I don't think Plymouth had carpeting in 1952. I don't recall seeing it in any of the cars I've ever looked at or owned. Quote
Young Ed Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 It was available I believe. Certainly not standard. Quote
RobertKB Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 My 1953 Plymouth came with factory carpet but it is a Belvedere. Normally they would have the rubber mat. Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 In 1952- Plymouth had front and rear carpet "Factory" installed in all the Belvedere`s. I have a 52 Belvedere and have the Ross Roy filmstrip introducing the car. I also have a 50 Chrysler 6 cyl club coupe parts car, it had carpet in the rear and rubber up front. High end cars-New Yorkers Imperials ect used carpet front and rear for 1950. This canadian 1950 Windsor has 1946-8 trim rings and hub caps. Trim rings might be after market though, hard to tell.
