kencombs Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 I vote for the 'rust', because it's closest to MY favorite color, RED. GM had a color in the 50's - 60's called Honduras maroon. Try that one and see if you like it. Quote
Young Ed Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 I kinda like the turqouise(sp?). Quote
Robin (UK) Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 The greenish blue looks great. Your 3rd and 4th mock-ups get my vote. Here's a color-adjusted picture. Robin. Quote
woodscavenger Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 The rust/orange looks awesome! Quote
48mirage Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 The rust color (personal bias, see my profile) or go all the way and get the Hemi Orange. Jim Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 I like the "as it is now". Second choice would be a nice plaid but you did not have that as an option. Quote
eric wissing Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 I like the way it is now, especially the tone. I guess I am a purest. Do what ever you like but when I see them metalic or something too flashy it doesn't seem right. Eric Quote
Brad Lustig Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 I like one of the aquamarines. I also like the yellow, but unless you want a taxi, the yellow has to be the right color. Quote
greg g Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Here is a link to the actual color chips for 54's. San Diego Gold is the closest to yellow on the grid, lotsa blues and greens. http://www.tcpglobal.com/aclchip.aspx?image=1954-plymouth-pg01.jpg Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 okay guys and gals help me pick a color. what are yalls thoughts. i know my favorite is and i know what my wife likes. whats yalls thoughts? im open to different ideas also. There is only one choice of color for the car and interior that the car should be done in. That's the color you want and like the best. You'll be the one driving and getting the most fun out of it. Not your wife, me or any of the other guys, so our choice would be irrelevant. So......what ever color and style of interior you pick is the right one. If you listen to your wife or one of us and do it a different way, you'll never be completely happy with it. Quote
Reg Evans Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 San Pedro Blue which may be the color it is now. Quote
randroid Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 p-24, What program did you use to do that color changing? I have several (Corel, Photoshop) that I've never taken the time to learn, and maybe now's the time. -Randy Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 The color sent by Robin is probably closest to an original shade. Someone mentioned honsuras maroon....this is close. Here's an original gold-ish yellow 54 model. A green combo. This one is pretty sharp with maroon and white top. A nice dark green. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Some more examples. Nice blue. Light blue. Quote
RobertKB Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 I like fourth from the top (darker turquoise) but you gotta paint it what you want. Your original colour is nice also but I just feel the darker colours like the fourth choice show off the curves these old girls have to advantage. I have always liked the colour of my P24 and as it is original paint I don't plan on changing it anyway. If I did, that darker turquoise would be at the top of the list. Quote
p24-1953 Posted October 18, 2007 Author Report Posted October 18, 2007 Light blue. we think that this was the original color, but it was repainted and the new color is badly faded and scuffed from being stored in a barn w/ animals Quote
Alexander Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 my pick is 4th from the top blueish/green. It screams classic 50's I also like the yellow/gold color posted by one member Quote
51 Fargo Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Myself I like the burgandy with white top Quote
Normspeed Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 I like #5, turquoise. I'm thinking Nash Metropolitan Turquoise. Maroon and white looks good too. Quote
