Conn47D24 Posted November 3, 2020 Report Posted November 3, 2020 Pictured is my turn signal cover. Original, painted poorly 35 years ago. Since, it became brittle, and cracked. After years of looking for NOS with no luck, I had it scanned and 3d printed. Amazing detail, they filled the cracks and I sanded it smooth, then painted. I am very please with this result. 2 1 Quote
Sniper Posted November 3, 2020 Report Posted November 3, 2020 might be a market for these kinds of things, good job 2 Quote
Eneto-55 Posted November 3, 2020 Report Posted November 3, 2020 Was the original made of pot metal? (I don't have one at all, but wonder if it would also be possible to duplicate the "workings". I assume these do not auto cancel, so the mechanism must not be overly complicated. I have a two way ON - Off in the middle - switch that I think would work, but would just need to extend the 'wand'.) Quote
Conn47D24 Posted November 4, 2020 Author Report Posted November 4, 2020 Original is plastic. Works are self cancel. I have my original mechanism. Quote

Conn47D24 Posted November 4, 2020 Author Report Posted November 4, 2020 Frank / All This is the company that did the 3D printing. Ask for Tiffany. She'll have the scan file. MikeS Posted January 29, 2021 Report Posted January 29, 2021 Do you have a pic of the innards, particularly springs. Mine is very sloppy suspect one or two are missing? Quote
Conn47D24 Posted January 30, 2021 Author Report Posted January 30, 2021 Sorry for the delay. Switch, and steering wheel pix. I believe the metal tabs bottom side of the SW are the signal canceling. Quote
Marcel Backs Posted January 30, 2021 Report Posted January 30, 2021 (edited) I wonder if they can print clear plastic parts. They did a great job on the switch cover and I can see why you want to use it with that woodgrain pattern. I had to get the windshield wiper pivot covers for my D14 machined (lucky I had one to use as a pattern & they are R/L interchangeable) because they are virtually impossible to find for the electric wiper equipped models. Technology ties up a loose end in parts acquisition. Thanks for the post! M Edited January 30, 2021 by Marcel Backs 1 Quote
