greg g Posted April 24, 2019 Report Posted April 24, 2019 (edited) For those interested in August in Auburn hills I think the Woodward cruise is the same week. All Chrysler corps brand cars and trucks welcomed. The 2019 WPC Club National Meet will be held from August 13-18 in Auburn Hills Michigan in conjunction with the Woodward Dream Cruise. 2019 Annual Meet Info and Registration Form depending on health we might attend. DonaldSmith Posted April 24, 2019 Report Posted April 24, 2019 Hmmm. I live near 12 Mile Road and Woodward, halfway between Pontiac and downtown Detroit. Sometimes I get the 47 DeSoto Custom Suburban out, and do the DreamCruise. Not much, cruise from 12 Mile to 11 Mile, and take the local streets home. Sometimes the best time to cruise is the evenings before the official Saturday event. And I might visit the basilica. The National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, at 12 Mile and Woodward, is a destination in itself, plus a Friday Night chicken dinner tents at the school, and Saturday activity tents on the church lawn. Contact me if you will be around for the WPC Meet. Quote
NickPickToo Posted April 25, 2019 Report Posted April 25, 2019 Working really hard to try and make the dream cruise this year. Fingers crossed. Quote
derbydad276 Posted April 25, 2019 Report Posted April 25, 2019 I'll be with my car club .. we rent a parking lot near 12 mile Quote
Merle Coggins Posted April 25, 2019 Report Posted April 25, 2019 (edited) We are planning to attend again this year. Thinking about spending the weekend before up in the U.P. of Michigan, with a possible visit to Mackinac Island. Notice that they have the car show planned for Thursday, with awards banquet as a brunch on Friday, so that everyone is free to participate in the Cruise Friday afternoon and Saturday. They are also working on securing a parking area along the route for club members to park and watch or cruise. We'll probably leave Saturday afternoon and head to Ludington, to catch the SS Badger car ferry back across Lake Michigan on Sunday morning. Edited April 25, 2019 by Merle Coggins Quote
MarkAubuchon Posted April 25, 2019 Report Posted April 25, 2019 Greg, let me know. Maybe do a little lake tour? DerbyDad, could we squeeze in with your club? Quote
NickPickToo Posted April 29, 2019 Report Posted April 29, 2019 Anyone else planning on doing Cruise in Shoes run? Quote

DonaldSmith Posted April 30, 2019 Report Posted April 30, 2019 Woodward runs north-northwest, so it's a 6- mile treck from 10 Mile Road to 15 Mile Road. Then some of the names change. 15 Mile Road is Maple Road. 16 Mile Road is Quarton to the west and Big Beaver to the east. Then come Wattles Road, Long Lake Road, Square Lake Road, and South Boulevard. On DreamCruise day, free shuttle busses run (?) the distance. If you get tired of walking, you can take ths shuttle bus. But it would be quicker to walk. If you do the Cruise on that Saturday, August 17, 2019, be prepared for slow travel and many delays. You will wear out your clutch foot and pusher fan. But hey, go for it. Quote
Fastback50 Posted April 30, 2019 Report Posted April 30, 2019 I'm really hoping the Plymouth is in proper shape to drive across the state to do the Dream Cruise this year. I'll likely take Grand River all the way from beginning to end W to E with this original rear end lol. NOT risking modern highways with the way people drive... Quote

I used to live in Howell and my better half is from Brighton! We will likely stop at a Coney Island because they don't have them out here, and that's just wrong lol. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted July 10, 2019 Report Posted July 10, 2019 It's a little over a month away now... We've got everything booked for the trip and looking forward to the "get-a-way". One night in Escanaba, MI so that we can give away some money at Island Resort & Casino Two nights in St. Ignace, MI with a trip over to Mackinac Island Four nights at the Marriott in Auburn Hills for the WPC meet. rallyace Posted July 11, 2019 Report Posted July 11, 2019 We can't make it. We already have two events booked for that weekend. Quote
NickPickToo Posted July 13, 2019 Report Posted July 13, 2019 were starting to sweat it too. So much to do so little time till the cruze. It all coming together but it seems to have its own time table ? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted August 10, 2019 Report Posted August 10, 2019 Almost all packed up and ready to go... Well, I’m all packed and ready. Waiting on my better half to finish packing, then we’ll be off on our next Ol’ Dodge road trip. If anyone is going to be there, keep an eye out for me. 1 Quote
Merle Coggins Posted August 11, 2019 Report Posted August 11, 2019 We’re in St. Ignace today. Touring Mackinac Island tomorrow. Then across this bad boy Tuesday morning on our way down to Auburn Hills/Pontiac. 1 Quote
JohnS48plm Posted August 12, 2019 Report Posted August 12, 2019 Have a good trip. I'm glad you're enjoying our state. I always love Mackinac Island. I won't be able to make Detroit I'd like to see the Chrysler Museum. JohnS Quote
Merle Coggins Posted August 15, 2019 Report Posted August 15, 2019 John, we didn’t get to see the Chrysler museum as they had a “special event” using the building that they couldn’t talk about. So we were not able to go there. However, they did open up their restoration shop/warehouse where they restore their museum collection and house many prototype and concept vehicles. It was an interesting visit, but we weren’t allowed to take any photos. Show day started out with a wet truck. Apparently it rained a bit earlier this morning. But I could easily wipe it down and get it prepped and staged. But it turned out to be a nice day, and even got quite sunny by afternoon. This year I had better competition in the truck class. Nice ‘67 Jeepster. And a few others that I liked... Not part of the Club show, but looked good parked right along side us... Quote
Merle Coggins Posted August 15, 2019 Report Posted August 15, 2019 (edited) Also had a chance to meet Don Smith and check out his DeSoto Suburban. He stopped by and crashed the party too. I think his Suburban got more attention than some others “in the show”. Edited August 15, 2019 by Merle Coggins 1 Quote
