I don't know, but I definitely remember seeing one a couple of decades ago.

Good thing I didn't see it yesterday or I wouldn't be able to remember even seeing it.

If that is a nut on the  bottom, then it is the front body mount stud 49-52  possibly others.after a second look, I am not so sure.  Maybe a lug bolt for the dual wheel ?

Well, to me it looks like a lug bolt, too. But, I’ve never seen one with a groove between the tapered shoulder and the hex-head like the one in the photo. In any case, it’s definitely interesting, and I’m really curious as to just what it is.

   Thx . . .

It  is for the spare tire , this one is for a 1949 Plymouth Woodie Wagon and it take 3 , spare tire is in the tail gate this lug bolt / screw would be the same on any of the 49 - 50 Dodge , Plymouth , Desoto, Chrysler wagons with the spare tire in the tail gate . and maybe other year Mopar wagons too ? If anybody runs across any i could use a few .

Why the need for such an odd lug nut to hold the spare?
