Young Ed Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 Got this letter in email-who would be stupid enough to think the IRS is going to volunteer to give you back extra money!!!!!!!!!!! > > Good News, > > After the last annual calculation of your fiscal activity we have > determined that you are eligible to receive a tax refund of $93.82. > Please submit the tax refund request and allow us 2-4 days in order > to process it. > > A refund can be delayed for a variety of reason. For exemple (invalid > records or applying after the deadline). The good news is that IRS > will make this refund directly to your visa and/or mastercard linked > to your checking/savings account instead a check or a direct deposit. > > To access the form for your tax refund, please continue to our secure > form Tax Refund V-M. > > Important: Do not use credit and/or american express or discover cards. > Only cards that are linked to your checking/savings account are accepted. > > Regards, > > Stephen Bronner > Internal Revenue Service - Tax Refund Specialist Quote
PatS.... Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 Congrats!!! Now you have to request it? Here they just send the cheque with the notice...like winning the lottery! $93.82 is about a tank of gas up here, so not too bad at all. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 Tell them as a concerned taxpaying citizen that you have elected for them to keep the money and apply it to the national debt....you will come out ahead that way... Quote
greg g Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 The IRS doesn't have Refund Specialists. They have Collections specialists, but they have never been to concerned about the refund side of the equation. The IRS maintains they never contact taxpayers by e mail. As alway, never give your banking info to any one except in a face to face situation where you innitiate the transaction. Quote
Johnny S Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 Hey, that's great news........ :-). I got the same refund notice and I get exactly the same amount back.......wow........what a co-ink-e-dink! Quote
Young Ed Posted July 10, 2007 Author Report Posted July 10, 2007 Maybe we should pool our 93.82 and get something twice as good! Seriously who would fall for this? Wouldn't you wonder how the IRS got your email when you never gave it to them? Quote
Brad Lustig Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 Has the IRS ever processed anything in 2-4 days? I can almost guarantee this is going to get quite a few people. Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 The sorry part about this scam is that there will be somebody out there that will think it on the up and up and get sucked in. I wish there was someway that you could send a big bad virus back to the sender and give him a notice that his computer is about to go tit-es up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 This is not a virus or a scam..if you have excess money that you wish to depart with, send it to me..I can put it to good use...large donators will get their names written on a donation pad attached to one of my many vehicles I have under repair....Thanks...remember this is a voluntary action on your part... PS...large donators refer to the amount of money, not the physical size of the person... Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 The sorry part about this scam is that there will be somebody out there that will think it on the up and up and get sucked in. I wish there was someway that you could send a big bad virus back to the sender and give him a notice that his computer is about to go tit-es up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, I don't know why people even open that kind of email. I look at a subject line and who the mail is from. If it's from a bank, IRS, or any other store, it automatically goes to junk and gets deleted without opening. Even email that addressed to me gets deleted if it's not some subject I'm familiar with or don't know the sender. All forwards also get deleted without opening, regardless of who they are from, unless I requested them to forward something. Not concerned about anything that says IRS, etc. because I've never given any of them my email address, even my own bank doesn't have it. Emails without a subject will also get deleted if I don't know the person. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 $93.82... HA. I just got the following message 4 times. Must be legit if they send it repeatedly. We lose about 75,000 USD of net income each month because we have money transfer delays. YOUR TASK =============== Your task is to coordinate payments from customers and help us with the payment process. You are not involved in any sales. Our sales manager sells products. Once he makes a sale we deliver the product to a customer (usually through FEDEX). The customer receives and checks the products. After this has been done the customer has to pay for the products. Just got one the other day from a relative that thought he was going to get a free cell phone for sending it to 15 people. My sister is new to the internet and she sends me stuff that I saw when the internet was still fairly young and this crap first started floating around (around '94) Quote
Guest tagree01 Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 $93.82 is nothing! In the last week I have won the Swiss, the British and the European lotteries!!! I didn't even know I was entered! All I had to do was send them my bank account number and password and they're gonna give me the money. Who said there is no such thing as money for nothing? Quote
