48Dodger Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 (edited) Got an email from my buddy Jim about a truck he saw hiding in Sutter Creek, California. It's sitting out in a field behind a few barns. I work in the area, so I went to see if it's atruck that's not to far gone, needs rescuing or an "I'll get to it someday" kind of a deal.Turns out it belongs to a nice ol' guy (86) who bought it in the sixies. He's not going to fix it up, and he wouldnt mind some help selling it.I told him I usally keep an eye out for unwanted trucks and give them a safeplace on my ranch, but don't spend a lot of money doing that. I'm gonna give him a handselling it and research the paperwork. So I thought I'd show it to my truck buddies here and see what you guys think is a fair price. Edited May 9, 2015 by 48dodger 2 Quote
P15-D24 Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 Looks pretty complete, how do the interior floorboards look? Quote
TheMoose Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 Someone should grab it just for the stainless grill! 1 Quote
Jeff Balazs Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 I wonder what is hiding behind that delete plate? Jeff Quote
48Dodger Posted May 9, 2015 Author Report Posted May 9, 2015 Floor boards are rusted through..... It is complete....boy howdy.....I want to buy it myself, but funds are in other projects right now. I didn't imagine it having so much intact. He's the second owner. 48D Quote
John-T-53 Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 (edited) This one has "living" patina on it....all that lichen. Who can say they've successfully cultivated a garden on the surface of their truck? lol This tells us that the truck is facing south ... That's a unique ash tray it has...never seen one like that before! Did the tree grow into the tail gate or was the truck backed up against it? Edited May 9, 2015 by John-T-53 1 Quote
Larry Leibhart Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 I would like to hear the story on why the cut out of the center off the D on the tailgate. Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 Part it out!!! I want the stainless grille! Quote
cavisco1 Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 I'm sure some of the guys on the International forums would be interested in that Scout. Quote
pflaming Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 Interesting lock on the glovebox door, looked promising from the front but discouraging up close. Quote
cavisco1 Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 It's always interesting to study photos like this. Very stout looking bumper. That bumper alone probably has more steel in it than my daily driver. Looks to have a complete set of hubcaps. Cool ash tray. Quote
cavisco1 Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 In image 3922 you can see some other old iron in the background. To the left is another pickup. To the right behind the concrete mixer is some other old truck cab. I would enjoy just looking around at an old place like that one. Quote
ggdad1951 Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 Part it out!!! I want the stainless grille! I want it MORE! Quote
pflaming Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 Put some drippers on the cab, place snails in the moss and raise escargo for the BBQ!!! Quote

48Dodger Posted May 10, 2015 Author Report Posted May 10, 2015 Is the Scout for sale too? Not sure....but I imagine the same would be true for all the cars/trucks there. That's a unique ash tray it has...never seen one like that before! Did the tree grow into the tail gate or was the truck backed up against it? I loved the ash tray...not sure if its original or aftermarket. I was trying to show that the tree grew up against it.... Sorry mark... I located it and am on the next flight out of Seattle!!!!!! LOL.....that's not the location..... 48D Quote
