Very nice car and obviously much appreciated and looked after.

I have owned my '53 Plymouth (survivor with original paint) since 1975 when I paid $400.00 for it. It was the same year I got married. I still have my wife but have added to the auto collection over the years. After 40 years, I am debating with myself about selling it. Maybe it is time for it to move on and have a new owner appreciate it. I of course would want a reasonable price for the Plymouth but it is more important for me to find an owner who would look after it like I have all these years. Time will tell.

My 46 was purchased from the original owner with 62000 miles on it in Aug of 1970 for $200.00.  I think our cars have aged more gracefully than we have.....

Well said! Certainly true in my case. :P

Purchased my 47 in 1999 and did extensive restoration on it. I have a sign I put in the window that says , my owner being older than me would like to get restored as well as I am. :P

I remember seeing an old 40 Plymouth business coupe in an alley in San Diego back in the 80s.  I used to go look at it and even open the door and sit in it. It needed complete restoration and there was no For Sale sign on it.  When I looked into the backyard of this home there were many derelict autos in the back yard.  One of them was a rare Henry J.  Don't know what happened to any of these cars.

David.......January 1972?..........so this is just a recent hobby for you then.........lol..........I've had my 'ol brown turd since September 1971............and you paid $500.00.........they saw you coming............lol.........my 'ol turd was $40.00, with 1 &1/2 mths rego but the ignition wires had shorted out so it didn't go........ so my 'ol man (who took me to see it as I was only 17 and not old enough to drive , lol)offered $15.00 and that's what I paid......cost $20.00 to get it towed home..................lol...........all jokes aside tho' you remind me of me, have a pic like yours from 1972 around somewhere.......but I think you got a MUCH better car then I got, it looked nice then and certainly looks nice now...........whilst mine is an Oz 1940 Dodge you can see the Plymouth heritage that all Oz 1940 Dodges had, Plymouth fenders, hood, bumper, lights etc but Dodge grille and badges..........got any more pics of your car.............btw Don........stop picking on us hippies.....lol.........regards, Andy Douglas

Brought this home in June of 1973 ..... cost was $450......   Not running,  needed paint, top and interior......plus there was no

stainless trim with it.  Had to find every bit of it at area salvage yards.   Fortunately that could be done in the 70s around here.

That was taken 2 days before my 21st birthday. It was driving about a month later and complete minus bed by winter storage. Somehow the next one I have to work on now doesn't seem to get done nearly as fast.

We are always quicker when we are/were young.......lol...........I got the Dodge as mentioned in Sept 1971, when I was 17, I'd already had a couple of cars before then, the 1st when I was 15, a 1938 Ford standard sedan, sold it and bought my 1st 1940 Dodge, an Oz Coupe for $40.00...have attached a couple of pics of it.........the pic of the 1940 Dodge Coupe in a magazine is my actual car before I bought it, aged 15.......I then pulled it apart as all 15yr olds do........and by the time I was 17 I found the sedan I still have but it was too good to pull apart so I did it up......the 2nd pic is of the coupe when I sold it in 1985.........it had a 302 Cleveland, C4,discs, etc but needed lots of work still............andyd
