ccrussell Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 okay a bit of a rant. I recently sent a fellow member a couple of parts for his mid to late 50s Plymouth. With the hopes that he could use them.did not request any money in return just postage stated before hand and with the note included with the parts that the parts were somewhat weatherbeaten however I thought that they could still be media blasted and used. This was the first week in October and thus far I have heard nothing further from this. This clearly is not about the money it's about the respect for some kind of reply. Okay now I've got it off my chest & vented. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 yes...I know where you care coming from...and the sad part is one experience like this pretty much sets the tone for "no additional sticking out of the neck to help" come on people...folks willing to help..be thankful..show some respect...at least acknowledge you got the part... RobertKB Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 That is modern day society in many cases. Lots of nice people out there but a lot that have not heard of common courtesy. Hold a door open for someone and more than half the time they don't even look at you, let alone thank you. It's all about ME and not you. Most people like that have not been taught any better. However, it should not put you off helping others because then the rude people have won. I have had lots of dealings with people on this forum and I have to say they have been 99% positive. 5 Quote
Brent B3B Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 Totally agree with the feelings and statements. On the other hand hope he is OK. Did you PM him? 1 Quote
ccrussell Posted November 21, 2014 Author Report Posted November 21, 2014 Yes I sent a personal message just wondering if maybe he didn't recognize my new username possibly but I did in fact Tell himI'm the guy from New York who sent him the parts.maybe the parts were not up to his standards but I did give the disclaimer that they were daily driver type part Quote
ggdad1951 Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 you can see if the member has been on the forum since you messaged them. At least you would know if they are alive! I sell many parts thru the classifieds and I always message the person after I ship asking to know if the parts made it. Seems to work 99% of the time. Quote

Russellcc Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Yes A new username different phone system just easier to re register then try to hook up with the old email. Anyway just disappointed sometimes. Most of what I have I would gladly give away for free. Just to help a fellow enthusiast. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Lately I've "given" away many of my spare parts. All I've asked in return is to consider making a donation to my charity of choice. It's always been a positive experience with good results. Please don't let one rotten apple spoil the whole experience. Merle Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Sounds kinda like our grandkids............you either buy them something or do a thing for them.........but they just don't seem to feel "thank you" is necessary. (Seems to be a sign of the times.) Quote
wayfarer Posted December 6, 2014 Report Posted December 6, 2014 Yeah, some of 'those' gen x-y-z kids seem to have been raised by a tv or a computer and received no formal training... wait most of them were raised by a tv..... Quote
Ulu Posted December 7, 2014 Report Posted December 7, 2014 "raised" is a relative term... Some are raised, and some are just left to fend however they can. Quote
