chopt50wgn Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 I wanted to pass on this info on how to figure out how many gallons a gas tank holds. You multiply length x width x height and divide that by 233. Quote
TodFitch Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 So length in meters by width in cubits by height in miles divided by 223? Might it be easier to say 233 cubic inches equals one gallon? Got to worry about the shape too. My gas tank has an oval shaped cross section, so even multiplying width by height by length in inches to get cu. in. would be inaccurate. Quote
bobjob55 Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 or just wait till you run out ,,, fill it with gas ,,, and read the gas pump ..... math was not my strong point ... 1 Quote
Niel Hoback Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 I have often thought that. I have three cars and they all have "one gallon engines". Quote
greg g Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 My service manual says my tanks capacity is seventeen gallons. Should be the same for all 15' with the possible exception of the wagon. Quote
Don Coatney Posted August 31, 2014 Report Posted August 31, 2014 So I have a one gallon engine! And I have a 1.1039 gallon engine Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 31, 2014 Report Posted August 31, 2014 .97 gallon and 210 ponies... Quote
Don Coatney Posted August 31, 2014 Report Posted August 31, 2014 I think your math is way off. Please explain exactly how you can squeeze 210 of these critters into a gallon jug??? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 31, 2014 Report Posted August 31, 2014 Don...do I always have to explain everything...ok...so here is how...first off you will need to find a heard of ponies...next get a pair of binoculars and a pair of tweezers..look in the binocular backwards..this will make the animal more relative in size to the jug...get the tweezers and start picking them up an put them in the jog..it is just that simple... Quote
Don Coatney Posted August 31, 2014 Report Posted August 31, 2014 Yea right...I think you are full of road apples. When I look at the jug through the binoculars backwards the tweezers are very small and the jug is way too small to even get one pony in there I even tried it with my eye loupe and it still did not work. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 31, 2014 Report Posted August 31, 2014 that your whole problem Don..you got to stay focused on the ponies...NOT THE JUG..chase but one rabbit to the hole at a time.. Quote
Don Coatney Posted August 31, 2014 Report Posted August 31, 2014 OK. I just set a couple of gallon sized milk jugs up and looked at them through the binoculars the right way and they sure look a lot bigger. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted August 31, 2014 Report Posted August 31, 2014 Its really easy, just put their ashes in the jug. Quote
pflaming Posted September 1, 2014 Report Posted September 1, 2014 Maybe this explains why there are so many more horses arses than there are horses. Quote
