Frank Elder Posted August 5, 2014 Report Posted August 5, 2014 Seen a lot of horrible things done to our cars over the years.......41 dodge. 1 Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 5, 2014 Report Posted August 5, 2014 hideous......but..somebody must have liked it..it was built.. 2 Quote

Conroe Powdercoating Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 why do people do stuff like that? it just doesnt make sense, even if you liked the front type of work he did, what makes him think the rear bumper flows with anything but a farm truck? Quote
steveplym Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 Looks like he took a late nineties Dakota and pretty much used all of it and swapped in the 41 Dodge parts. Different and does nothing for me, but it's all Dodge isn't it? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 I recognized the Dakota stuff real quick..I myself am using a Dakota donor on a build but...in a little less obvious manner 1 Quote
Niel Hoback Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 I,,,,,,,,I,,,,,,,,,I,,,,,, Well, that back bumper is just stupid. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) well it is different to say the least..I would be curious to see the underside to see if the entire frame was used and the body was swapped over...I base this on the use of the RT wheels from the Dakota and to my knowledge is 6 bolt lug pattern..I am also surprised that no one has mentioned what appears to be the a rumble seat being worked into the trunk....I also feel that the man has also mounted the gas tank above the axle and under the package tray based solely on the gas door location and the height it has to be to allow being filled to a full status.. steveplym Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 I just looked at those pictures again. Had he put the Dakota interior in it too? Looks like those interior trim panels are similar to Dakota as well as the steering wheel. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 seat and steering wheel is Dakota...probably a whole lot more Dakota used..more and closer pictures woul dneed be posted...I personally have been successful in transposing all of a 2004 Dakota into a P15 bz cp with the exception of the wipers and original radiator..wiper I always change to a favorite of mine and the radiator itself was just not proportional to the support bracket of theP15 however, the original condenser and AC hard lines are readily transferred to the P15..when using the 2004 Dakota AC assembly...oh and the 6 lugs axle and hubs have been changed to 5 bolt Quote
steveplym Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 Tim I've got a 2004 quad cab, and was thinking yesterday while driving around town, wonder how much of this truck would adapt to my p-15. Not that I'm thinking about doing that, just something to think about in the future. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 7, 2014 Report Posted August 7, 2014 I can assure you that the most of the components does fit well in/on the P15 bz cp however the rear seat out of a quad cab would not look at home in any coupe/sedan..but then that also is just my opinion...it would take a lot of custom panels on the interior to make it flow and may well be worth every minute you put into this fabrication....it is a big decision to cut a car and continue it's build..I looked at all the components prior to the first cut for feasible install and found it to be very doable. I made these measurements using a friend's truck prior to buying my donor truck. Do take a long and close look before stepping boldly to the car with a cutting wheel..but if planned..it is a very fun and rewarding experience. When joining the 2004 Dakota front clip to the P15 frame when tied follow the original frame centerline and reattaching the forward two body mounts were dead on the original frame dimensions as established by measurements and a white paint pen...do remember this...the electronics must come forward..speedo ring tone may well be in the differential..I used a manual tranny and I am not sure if the automatics have a tranny drive..that part was confusing in the info I found..and threw the first curve ball in the game...I had to go with the '04 ring gear..trust me, was not my first choice.. 1 Quote
