Found a nice ignition lock with a Mopar key in it. The lock has a smooth movement and the key goes in and out nicely. Also found a cool amber colored turn light. Bought both for $5.00. Going to another flea market this morning. This market is much larger.

Find # 2: heard of an overdrive for sale in the area. Took some $$$ with me and came home with it, attached to the tryanny, the footpedals, etc. He was liquidating so I shot lower than I thought he'd take and he picked up the green. Pulled it and it is now safely stored in my son's garage. Just got to be alert, things are out there. Willl post pics when I figure out this i-pad

An overdrive in Maine, and I missed it. Very discouraging.

That ebay guy I sent you should still have his. Last I talked to him it was available and ready to ship. I was going to buy it myself but I found one local

I think the OD I bought was from the lead you sent me. Thanks. Darlene and I are meeting up with Mark D in Kingfield , ME on Tuesday the 8th. Looking forward to that. Sure enjoy Maine I should find me a small camp and spend the entire summer and fall out here. Got to nose around a bit more before we leave.

Find #3: I picked a very nice fuel/brake line bender, a valve spring tension release tool, and a very different old pair of tail light turn signal lights all for $10. The signal lights will work on The Phoenix. I can mount them higher than the OE lights and that will get the following driver's attention better. When I get home I'll put pics into my photobucket and post them.

Paul, download the Photobucket App for your iPad, then you can upload the pics from your iPad to Photobucket and then link them back to the forum. I've done it like that from my iPhone. It's a little cumbersome, but it can be done.

Paul,

have you checked the OD is a R-10-G-1  ??

If so, you do have a knack!

Maybe a sideline of OD locator to finance your auto projects?  :D

Sounds like your are making the most of this vacation!

Yes, the numbers are R-10-G-1. I have the OD and it's tryanny here in my possession. We removed the four bolts to the clutch housing and once we jarred the gasket loose it come out with no trouble at all. Nice.

I may have it sold, will know on Tuesday. We are really enjoying Maine as we always do. I don't do much, tinker with my son's cars, disc pads and rotors on one and new kit in his carb for his 54 Chevy truck. We go to Quebec City on the 11th. Meeting MarkD from Mass at his Maine Camp this Tuesday, have lunch and visit them return. About a two hour drive one way.

I'm thinking of putting a 3:53 rear axle in my truck. Can I change the pumpkin in that Cherokee rear axle or just change the axle? Hope all is fine with you.

Here you go Paul you aren't the only one that can find these.

Truck was a little low with that weight in the back. What a perfect task do be undertaking while your truck turns over to 220K miles.

Sweet haul Ed. Boneyard or yardsale?

Craigslist. Guy had a 52 listed with overdrive for sale and said he also had a v8 for it if someone wanted to go that route. I sent him a message saying if it sells and the guy decides to go v8 pass him my # and I'll buy the drivetrain. Got a message back saying it was already pulled and what do you offer.

What? didn't get the thrill of the pic? That's like going fishing and having someone take the fish off his hook and handing it to you! LOL

HAHA

And I would have been sadly dissapointed if I'd put any effort into pulling that first 218. The one he said had a knock in it is junk! .030 over crank, razor sharp rod bearings, etc. We'll see if the second one looks any better.......

I'm a very happy camper today... Had a great day visiting with Paul and his wife Darlene, took them to the Stanley museum in Kingfield after we ate lunch, then over to the oldest wire suspension bridge in Maine(1866), then back to casa Duggan (north) to relax and chat. Oh and received a 4th gear for my car... (Insert grin here).

Mark and Tracy were perfect host and hostess for Darlene and I today. I delivered an over drive tranny as part of the trek. The hills and woods of Maine are very interesting for me, so very different from the high plains of NE and the Central Valley of California. I hope his desire to start a BBQ event will be supported by the Members in the area.

Thanks M and T, it was a great day.
