pflaming Posted June 9, 2014 Report Posted June 9, 2014 The temp gauge in the shade outside my garage at 3:30 pm reads 110 degrees and will rise until 5:00. That's why I was in the garage spackling dry wall at 6:00 a.m. One more day of this four day heat wave and then back into the 90's. How are things your way? 1 Quote

Daliant. Posted June 9, 2014 Report Posted June 9, 2014 Highs in the upper 70's, lows in the mid 50's Quote
TodFitch Posted June 10, 2014 Report Posted June 10, 2014 Yesterday was unseasonably hot for us. Today too. But the temperature peaked earlier at 93°F at our house and we started getting a breeze off the bay. Down to 83°F at present which is a bit higher than the predicted high for tomorrow. Day after that we should be back to our normal mid-70s high temperatures. Quote
Mark D Posted June 10, 2014 Report Posted June 10, 2014 Just got back from Los Angeles yesterday. One thing that exists out there that doesn't in New England is consistency. I stay in the Marina in the evenings and the weather couldn't be better, 78f and sunny. Downtown was a different story, my office is right next to the Staples center and the temps downtown where in the 90's. Back here in central Massachusetts the temps go into the high 80's during the day and been dropping in the 50's in the evenings. I also noticed one other thing, my seasoinal pollen allergies disappeared while I was out there, but came back with a vengeance an hour after I landed in Boston. Weather report for the rest of the weekend looks to be pretty good, and I am headed to my place in northern Maine for some R&R. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 10, 2014 Report Posted June 10, 2014 yes...in California I believe the smog problem is so bad and the air so heavily laden, pollen cannot stay suspended...we have a lot of pollen here in the south..you probably would be most uncomfortable here Quote

But allergies are specific to the specific plant pollen. Since the plants that grow in LA are quite different than those that grow in Boston your allergic reaction can be quite different. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 10, 2014 Report Posted June 10, 2014 we definitely need a icon with tongue in cheek...was trying a stab at humor.. Quote
