Plymouthy Adams
the 41 Luxury Liner has a Lucite accent running the length of the ornament...I asked Paul point blank on chat if this item had the grove for that insert..he stated no...so it is not for a US made Dodge D19
pflaming
Is it possible that the Mopar. Icon by the part number is an Asian forgery and thus the ornament came from the Wong Dynasty?

Dodgeb4ya
Maybe it was made in the wrong dynasty. I looked it up in my supercedence books... no go. My D24 parts book another no go. Plymouthy Adams
while original source would be nice to know..PP has stuck that thing on the bulge of his hood and is happy with it...as long as he keeps the rams head oriented in the correct position as shown..all should be well...

Plymouthy Adams
I found my Dodge truck book...it looks as though that could well be the first edition restyle of 1939 (TC series) BUT I am not that up on trucks... Young Ed
TC and VC (39 & 40) had leaping rams. 41-47 look like my 46. All the 39-47 ornaments have a 1 screw attachment with a hook.
Plymouthy Adams
neither of those two ornaments are the one that is pictured in the book as the very early 39 TC....of course I guess I should take this with a frain of salt as it was written by Don Bunn
Plymouthy Adams
well...Ed told me on chat that Dunn done done it again...may as well be written in Chinese as most is wong wong wong

Plymouthy Adams
the contents are loaded with errors..the rest of the book could have used some real data thrown in the mix.,.I ordered the book online..had I had it in my hand to scan prior to purchase..it would have stayed at the store..my personal findings

I haven't seen any glaring errors thus far, knowing back in the 50's there was a much looser grip on manufacturing processes between plants. Plymouthy Adams
each his own opinion of content...I was from the very beginning disappointed by the book. There is hardly any facts in the book to guide one along..the many pictures are not correctly representative of the model years and or being in factory motif..rather hodge podge collection of stuff filing the pages between the binders. I was expecting more a factorial book rather than a child's bed time reader..it is what it is by all accounts, just less than expected and touted at the time I purchased it is all I am saying. If you like looking at pictures..then that book will be right up your alley..if you looking at pictures to determine what is or should be..you will be deceived more than enlightened. I am again, a unpaid and unaccredited book critic.. PS there are a few books by this person..which one is the bible I have no clue..to me this is not it..,.of his other books, I cannot comment as I have not had them in my hand to peruse. Some folks have a hit with their first book..on a subject such as this..it is hard to repeat the same thing over and over and keep selling it as new material..what book he wrote that would have best suited my need at the time I bought this one, I have no clue. The book had just been released when I bought it long ago Edited March 17, 2015 by Plymouthy Adams
ggdad1951
I think the bible I refer to is: Dodge B-Series Trucks: Restorer's & Collectors Reference Guide and History the other I have is: Dodge Pickups: History and Restoration Guide 1918-1971 and is more of a reading book. Plymouthy Adams
I have the reading book...thus my critique is a bit harsh as I was expecting more...maybe one day will get to puts my hands on the better reference book.. pflaming
Books are like resturants, very difficult to recommend. One likes the technical others like the general reference, it's like the age old question "Is it the girl or the dress?"

Larry Leibhart
It would appear that Paul's hood ornament was never on a Dodge made pickup of any year. So where could it have came from ?
