Inner fenders repaired and painter yesterday, the doghouse goes on today, then full engine bay wire comment. The dash is prewired and tested, so much has already been done.

After going back through this whole topic start to finish, its been a real treat to see how someone with such dedication end with something they can be truly proud of!  Making me antsy to get my 53 done, PF you have been a great inspiration! Keep up the great work and I look forward to the progress on the Flaming Burbon!

My octogenarian body needed a respite today. I did get the bumper and loosely positioned. And I'm adding connecting bolts from the doghouse to the body. Will likely paint the bumper to match the doghouse.

Since i cant have another cat, I got me a fire guard rooster.

This is the Suburban I'm rebuilding. I paid $350 for it. I bought it for a parts car! I think it was in better shape then, than the Dodge on   eBay today.

Yesterday I noticed that the inner fender requires an extended, removable side panel. This probably to allow access to adjusting the valves. Does someone have a picture of this panel. I bought this doghouse, a 54 model, and the panel is missing.

Looks like it's taped over to me.  I would  have removed it.  Had a few on my bumpers in the past.  Don't mean enough to me to keep one on a bumper. lol

Tim, no that decal is priceless. To paint over it would, in my opinion be disgraceful to my military friends. In hindsight if I had the military decision to make, I would have tried to become a Seabee! I'm serious about that.

No, disrespect to Casper, career military person.

Paul if you can wait until the end of the day, I have my inner fenders off in the garage and readily available if you are still interested in the removable side panel?

BA, I've got lots of time? TKS my fender is a '54 model.

PF, I believe they should be quite similar between the 53 & 54 but I could be mistaken. Oh and i may be delayed until tomorrow as we are supposed to get 8-10 inches of fresh powder today and then the temp is supposed to drop out the bottom of the thermometer (-11 for a high)... oh to be someplace warm right now haha

The '53 Dodge Suburban on eBay just sold for $9900.00! Incredible.

Don't be surprised if it magically re-appears in the near future.  Lots of shill bidding and deadbeat bidders make eBay interesting.

please define shill and deadbeat. I would guess those are really non buyers. Shill is a person who is hawking to drive up the price. Not surprising, so how does a buyer and seller know?

Some years ago we went to Germany and London and too our 10 year old boy (keith) along. We were staying beach side and one Suday afternoon he strolled the beach. Later that day, we were driving along said beach and my wife noted to her mother the topless sunbathers .

Keith responds, "I was on that beach, this person in front of me turned and faced me, Boy, he sure didn't look like Glenn ( his older brother)!

That said, your pics need to be studied along side the car, because, "They sure don't look . . . "
