90lxfive0 Posted October 2, 2012 Report Posted October 2, 2012 Anyone have any recommendations for a decent car cover for a 1950 club coupe? I just want something that will fit and keep the dust off it in the garage. Im reluctant to buy anything off of ebay, I bought one for my skylark a few years ago and it was a lot bigger than the car. Young Ed Posted October 2, 2012 Report Posted October 2, 2012 California car cover makes the best ones around. They have indoor and outdoor versions and are custom cut for your car. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 2, 2012 Report Posted October 2, 2012 for inside storage you can get a lower price Budge..often found at Walmart or other similar outlets... Quote
90lxfive0 Posted October 2, 2012 Author Report Posted October 2, 2012 I basically just want something that will actually fit the car, not be too big or too small Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 2, 2012 Report Posted October 2, 2012 then I really see no problem here, just grab a tape measure and get the dimension..that is the manner in which they are sold.... some of my dust covers for the shop are noting but old sheets sewn together and they are a dime a dozen at the thift shops.. JIPJOBXX Posted October 2, 2012 Report Posted October 2, 2012 I have a Costco cover and it works great and the price is right also! I think around 35 dollars or so???? Quote
desoto1939 Posted October 2, 2012 Report Posted October 2, 2012 Since you are only using the cover in the garage to stop dust from getting onthe car then why do you need a perfect fit? I use a generic cover that covers the entire car and then I put thick blankets on the fenders to help prevent an accidental scratches that could occur if someone, like kids or wife or what ever such as a pocketbook or keys hanging out of your pocket from scrathing the fenders when you walk past the car. Other suggestion is to use a black marker on each corner od the dust cover and indicate as RF right front. LF Left Front, RR Right Rear and LR Lefr rear so that when you put the cover back onthe car you will know immediately if you have put the cover on backwards. This has saved me manytimes. Niel Hoback Posted October 2, 2012 Report Posted October 2, 2012 Steal some old sheets from the linen closet, sew them together, viola! You have a dust cover. Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted October 2, 2012 Report Posted October 2, 2012 And here is my Costco Car cover!!!! Quote
chopt50wgn Posted October 2, 2012 Report Posted October 2, 2012 I just boght one from Calif Car cover. They make them to fit whatever car you want. I told them I wanted one to be an indoor and stop dust. They asked what kind of car and even asked if any mods to body like chopped top. I told them the roof is 4 inch chop and they said no problem. Wasn't cheap.....$321 but I had one from them for my Dart yrs. ago and the covers they make are high quality. You get what you pay for. Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted October 2, 2012 Report Posted October 2, 2012 Yep mine cost all of 35 dollars but its only used to cover my car in the car port. I do not store my car outside and in fact none of my vehicles are outside including my 35 foot motor home. I really feel that a steel car hast to breath and having it covered up and outside well that just causes up here mold and mildew. Quote
greg g Posted October 3, 2012 Report Posted October 3, 2012 I got a Budge for a medium sized car as a show door prize, It fits my 46 Business Coupe but one bumper sticks out no matter how I position it. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 3, 2012 Report Posted October 3, 2012 Greg..its just a bit of attitude peeping out... Quote
90lxfive0 Posted October 4, 2012 Author Report Posted October 4, 2012 Thanks guys. Ill probably go with one of the generic costco covers. Just want to keep dust off of it and prevent scratching if anyone walks past it with bags or anything Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 Good idea and to keep it in place I just use the top of the door jams to hold it. Quote
