TheMoose Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 Dirt work started on my new garage today! Actually it's an extension of my current shop/garage. After this construction I'll have a separate shop and garage! Everything that is not a tool is coming out of the shop & in to the garage! It's gonna be nice to have a dedicated work area that I can use without having to move a bunch of stuff first! Quote
HanksB3B Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 Show me the tools! Hank P.S. Nice Garage! Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 show me the shop one year later...lol Quote
TheMoose Posted July 4, 2012 Author Report Posted July 4, 2012 Show me the tools!Hank P.S. Nice Garage! Keeping an eye out for more shop equipment, blast cabinet, Big air compressor & new Mig welder are first on the list. The garage will have a cathedral ceiling so when I get a lift I can get my 53 high enough off the ground I can walk under it. show me the shop one year later...lol It'll be full again but, I live in the country, I have plenty of more space to expand! Phase 1 complete dirt work & gravel Phase 2 starts Monday when they start framing Quote
TheMoose Posted July 4, 2012 Author Report Posted July 4, 2012 This is actually Garage v2.5 My original shop was hit by a Micro burst, both the shop & the house took damage but the shop was totaled, it had a pretty good lean & a twist to it!. So we knocked it down And built a new shop. Now it's time to add on to the old/new shop Quote
TheMoose Posted July 9, 2012 Author Report Posted July 9, 2012 More progress, they caught a break with the weather, still hot but better than last week. Quote

TheMoose Posted July 10, 2012 Author Report Posted July 10, 2012 One of the great things about living in the country is extra room! I have 3 acres so I still have room to expand. Quote

I say to heck with the shop expansion. Suggest you expand the bikini area..... On second thought make the bikini area smaller as this will lead to greater expansion;) Quote

TheMoose Posted July 11, 2012 Author Report Posted July 11, 2012 bwahahahahahahSo looks like the shops will be butted up against each other? What's teh roofline plan? New roof will blend into old roof at 90 degrees. Rafters showed up today, just guessed so I hope the ceiling is high enough for a lift. Quote
pflaming Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 Moose: Can't you buy rafters with "cathedral" bracing? That would lift the ceiling about 3 feet or more. The PO of my garage put plywood trianges in the tops of the rafters and that gives me a 10' ceiling in a garage with standard studs. If you want a pic, I'll take one. Quote
