wayfarerstranger Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 (edited) Hello peanuts ah i mean carnuts !! in your humble opinion if u owned a old brite yellow car/truck what color would u paint your wheels /using small hubcaps ? WHITE , ORANGE , SLIVER , BLACK ETC ETC ..not new paint on the vehicle but old original faded patina .maybe someone with that magic voodoo paint program could conger up some different paint skeems ?? P.S. this isn`t a life or death question so please no one have a heart attack thinking about this .... Edited April 22, 2012 by wayfarerstranger Quote
pflaming Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 " . . . old brite yellow car/truck what color would u paint your wheels /using small hubcaps ? WHITE , ORANGE , SLIVER , BLACK ETC ETC." To me wheels are like shoes, they are not the outfit; but they finish it. Now the question for me was: traditional, modern, classic, creative? It's all personal taste. Style of vehical and message to be sent factor in also. I'm using either gloss black or deep gloss blue, small caps with red center and luxury rings to accent my original patina. Red would look good too but for me it drew attention to itself. For months I watched for wheels and saved the pics of what I liked. Choices. . . . part of the fun. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 Not being adventuresome, I vote for white. Quote
ptwothree Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 A dark maroon...goes good with most any color.. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 Argent silver, use the Chrysler formula as it has just enough violet to give it an iridescence look Quote
RobertKB Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 I would say the same yellow as the body colour. Second choice would be black. Quote
Don Coatney Posted April 23, 2012 Report Posted April 23, 2012 I would think a nice green/red plaid would look great. Purple polka dots on a chartruse background would be my next choice. Quote
1950 Special Deluxe Posted April 23, 2012 Report Posted April 23, 2012 I have a 2nd set of rims for mine. The car is gun metal grey, the rims will be red, the hub caps polished, and I have a set of Bias ply WWW's. I would prefer radials but a fellow member of our antique auto club had some Bias ply for sale at a decent price. Pictures to follow this summer. Quote

BobT-47P15 Posted April 24, 2012 Report Posted April 24, 2012 Well, I guess a ride is more fun and less calories than a steak. (However, we did eat lunch at Shoney's before the ride.) Quote
