ggdad1951 Posted March 10, 2012 Author Report Posted March 10, 2012 NICE!!!Original paint on the faces? yep Quote
John-T-53 Posted March 10, 2012 Report Posted March 10, 2012 yep I was hooping to clean up my original paint too, although got some surface rust on the letters. I'll try to clean up very gently and polish the old faces with cleaner wax or just wd-40... we'll see.. Quote
Desotodav Posted March 10, 2012 Report Posted March 10, 2012 Great job Mark - as with the rest of the truck too!!! I see that your truck has the same greyish gauge face as mine. I just had mine tidied up as the original paint was good. I had a flush-mounted indicator warning LED installed, which is barely noticeable unless lit (it's just below the '40'). I really look forward to seeing photos of your truck completed. Desotodav Quote
B1B Keven Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 and the gauge cluster is in Wow, very nice! Quote
Young Ed Posted April 3, 2012 Report Posted April 3, 2012 You didn't turn that sucker back to 000000? Quote
ggdad1951 Posted April 3, 2012 Author Report Posted April 3, 2012 You didn't turn that sucker back to 000000? heh, that what the OD read as long as I remember! It'll be fun to watch the first 1/10 click over after 40+ years! Quote
Todd B Posted April 3, 2012 Report Posted April 3, 2012 You will have to wear sun glasses so the glare off the shiny chrome don't blind you. Looks great. Todd B Quote
pflaming Posted April 3, 2012 Report Posted April 3, 2012 Those chrome gauges are fantastic. GREAT WORK! Mine are now glare resistant! One of many reasons trucks interest me is the individuality and creativity that exists. Dashes and colors are two such examples. Quote
ggdad1951 Posted April 3, 2012 Author Report Posted April 3, 2012 oh yah and I forgot to say, I checked continuity between the gauge cluster and the ground..and ZERO resistance! WOOHOO! Quote
