Weeeeeeeee!

Picked up my truck from my friends paint shop. Spend Saturday assembling. It was cold this weekend in northern Illinois. Torpedo heater sure helped out.

Got the inner / outer fenders and front panel and a few other odds and ends installed before frost bite set in. Can't wait to finish it. As soon as we get a weekend in the 30s or 40s I am going back to install the hood. doors, windows and weatherstripping.

I'll be done by spring with any luck. Could not have got this far without all of your great technical advice and experience. Thanks to all!

Brad

Pretty sure it's red. Flourescents will tend to make reds look orange. I've got some orangish looking pictures that I know are red. Looking at the one that shows the dash you can see a more reddish tint along the A pillar and bottom of the dash.

Oooohhh.. I'm envious. It's cold here in southern NH too and any automotive work has come to almost a complete stop at my house.

My truck (see sig) is going really slow because I always seem to find other projects (1986 GMC 'Burb 6.2 diesel that needed a flex plate, 1997 'burb 6.5 turbo diesel that needed 2 valves in the #6 cylinder, my '66 Chevy Pickup that needs almost everything put back together, my sisters 2003 Saturn Vue that jumped timing @ 158K, my 2005 F250 Diesel that needs regular maint, my wifes 2001 Nissan that needs regular main, 'our' 2001 Maxima that needs regular main, my 2007 Vulcan 900 that needs regular maint - and more riding, etc... you get the idea). I'll get to it before I'm dead... I promise. :-)

Froze my tail off this weekend again but got alot done. All I need to do now is get the glass in, the interior, weatherstripping and some misc electrical. That all will have to wait until it gets a little warmer.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous you're that close!

Mark you can't be that far behind that. You've got the cab and grill on. Registered for back to the 50s yet? I got my form in the mail a week or so ago.

Had a good three days this week working on my truck. It is pretty much done! Just a few odds and ends.

I am having trouble getting the cab lights and the parking lights in front to work. They are all on the same circuit so I am thinking it is something simple.

Also, the driver's side window does not roll up very well. I think I will replace the regulator and see if that helps. Got the glass and interior in except the headliner. Left that at home, duh!

Other than that, she's road worthy. Check her out. She is dusty from the dry weather on the farm, but still loooks good. I will give her a good wash and detailing next trip. Gotta name her too. For the amount of time and money she costs, could be considered a second wifey.

Very nice truck, you should be proud. How far south from wisconsin do you live??

Very cool! Nice job!

Spray silicone is a good quick fix for window channels and catwhisker areas the glass rubs on - makes it slide easier.

NICE! SO ready to get mine to that status!

Lights might be a ground issue? Seems that is a VERY common issue with anything electrical on these trucks.
