Got a nice call from a truck owner in San Francisco, Ca whose making it to the BBQ with his 1950.....and.....his buddy from Seattle, Wa. is coming down too. I asked if it was Bud....but no such luck. Got me going for a sec. :D

So here's the deal...the "2011 Honorary Burger" Recipient was Don C.

I vote the 2012 HB goes to Buds truck .....all in favor???

That aint no real burger. It takes and expert to make a monster burger.

Hope we can make it Tim. I'll see if I can make it this year. The tax business is still going at that time and I have a real hard time getting out of here that close to the filing deadline. I will check with my spouse and see if she can cover for me for an hour or two.

Jonathan was just asking if you were doing it again this year. He will probably make it for sure.

The truck is a disaster. I should have just had it done professionally. The paint will only look good at 55 MPH. The engine runs pretty good. There are a couple of minor issues mechanically. Still need to put in the glass and finish the interior (including most of the gauges). Put on the bed last week. Tailgate is somewhere in the weeds. Still looking for the 4th hubcap.

Hope to talk to you soon.

I thought my truck would be up and running again by now but I was overoptimistic (engine was just started on last week though he has had it since December. I bought a water transfer tube for him last week, the one in my engine was shot), so I will shoot for next year. When I come over I want my old truck to come along as well. Everyone have a good time, see you next year:)

Good luck on getting the old gal back on the road! Make sure your shop installs the right valve guides and doesn't get them from Egge (Their guides have too big ID). Contact me for a source for the correct ones if your guy hasn't found 'em.

My engine is back together again and I'll be there Saturday!

Could you give me the source for the quides. My guy has rebuilt lots of flat heads over the years, and that is one reason I used him. I gave him the Vintage Power Wagon and Roberts Motors contact info for parts if he couldn't find stuff. I ordered the transfer tube, because he asked me to do that for him. If you have a source of good guides I will give that to him as well. Thanks

Thanks for the "CARS " guys invite, Tim.

Drove my 50 ply. 4 dr. up from modesto (really only 45? miles, one way), but still about the 2nd. longest trip for my driver. Ran perfectly.

The "TRUCK" guys LET me park my "DRIVER" in the middle of the trucks and treated me very kindly.

The mostly appreciated part of the day was the sharing of the time ( dollars a far second) invested to build an old car or truck.

thank you!

All the mowing made the place look GREAT! We all need an excuse to do spring cleaning.

looks like a great time was had by all. I was talking to the wifey today about how much I missed being able to go this year. She told me to make it a point of getting the time off next year so we can go for sure. Gotta love this little woman......:)

What a great turn-out Tim. Good on ya for getting the gang together. Pity for all that water between me and you otherwise you could count me in for the annual event. Well done!

Very Cool Tim;

What an amazing event......I wish I could have been there. It really would have been great to meet everyone and see all those trucks.

Looks like you had a great turn out. I'll bet everyone had a awesome time.

You are to be commended for all the hard work you put into making this happen.

You must be a decent guy.........no matter what Hank say's about you. ;)
