RobertKB Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 No like! I just think things are out of proportion. It looks like it's been squashed. As most of you know, I like them as stock as possible but, hey, that's just me. Probably some will agree with me while others will like the car. You asked for an opinion so that's what you got. Quote
Oldguy48 Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 I have to agree with RobertKB. Some cars look OK when chopped, but not this one. Just my opinion. Quote
aero3113 Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 I like it, with a nice paint job it would look even better. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 At least its not in a junk yard. yet. Kinda ugly. Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 I have a P-15, I would really like to have a 48 Buick. But I dont want a hemorphidite:eek: Quote
Vintage Metal Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 the rear of the car needs to be fine tuned to the proportions. The wheels...a huge negative! I dont like them on the car, needs hubcaps and skirts! Quote
Frank Elder Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 I like it, to me the chop is spot on...not so the hood fit or sickly sounding motor, oh and I like them shiney:) Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 lots of work in the car but to be where I would have it there is a lot left to do...the chop is livable..but the louvered hood..never ever have I been a fan of that modification.. Quote
michael.warshaw Posted October 27, 2011 Author Report Posted October 27, 2011 its different not asuch a big fan of the back but the front looks wicked! Quote
Cpt.Fred Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 you're right, there's something about the front. there are some very nice ideas, but they're fighting each other as if the owner could't decide if he wanted a dragster or a leadsled custom. the paint job is just horrible, and there's other stuff, too... i'd like to own it and smooth it out, it could become a very nice custom. AND he's driving it, and that's cool enough for me. Quote
hotrodkats Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 How about this? P15 and 48 Cadillac grille. Quote
Don Coatney Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 How about this?P15 and 48 Cadillac grille. I like the caddy grill treatment better than the Buick grill treatment. But most of all I like the stock grill. Quote
Cpt.Fred Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 i like it:cool: but it's right, hard to find a grill that looks better than the original... no reason to stop trying, though. Quote
47heaven Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 Quick! Shoot it, put it out of it's misery and bury it! What an atrocity! Quote
wayfarerstranger Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 EXCUSE me i`m mopping up the VAHHHH- MENT ! Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 I do like the lighter looking 49 Plym bumper on the Caddy grille car. The first one is unique, and with some more work in various areas it could be more nifty. At least they aren't sitting in some junk yard somewhere. Quote
1lowdown Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 It has an Art Deco 1930's Katz and Jammer look to it. I like it Quote
michael.warshaw Posted November 3, 2011 Author Report Posted November 3, 2011 i wish that caar was for sale so i could buy it, love the cad grill. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 i wish that caar was for sale so i could buy it, love the cad grill. make him an offer he can't refuse..... Quote
Robin (UK) Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 48 Caddy grille and 49 Plymouth bumpers are very common custom modifications - and you can see why. As for the first car in this thread... no thank you! All the great custom cars are built with an overall vision - with consideration to proportions, flow and continuity of style. Too many seem to be just hacked about and end up looking ugly. Here's an example of how good they can look (pictures from Rik Hoving's website)... Quote
wayfarer Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 I agree with Frankie, the chop looks good, but the front end appears to be extremely heavy/thick/bulky...something Quote
Frank Elder Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 If you used pilothouse grill bars it would almost look like a 46-48 Ferd! Quote
