55 Fargo Posted July 16, 2011 Report Posted July 16, 2011 Mighty hot here in the Northland of Manitoba. The thermometers read as follows, cool side of house about 95, warm side over 100, and indoor temp gauge with wireless outdoor sender unit reaching 100. Here is the proof.. Quote
hkestes41 Posted July 16, 2011 Report Posted July 16, 2011 Know what you mean. Here in Dallas we have been 100 or above for 15 straight days and looking at the 10 day extended forecast they are predicting 100 plus through a week from Monday which would be 25 days straight. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 16, 2011 Report Posted July 16, 2011 we had our long dry run with temps well over 100 many days in a row...I broke that cycle. I believe by simply removing the siding from the gable to renew it..been raining and lightening every evening since..not good weather to be on metal scaffolding..got 2/3 of the siding on just a few minutes ago..took a sandwich break..pouring again...oh well..we getting there..bit at a time Quote
55 Fargo Posted July 16, 2011 Author Report Posted July 16, 2011 Hey Guys, this sure is hot for the northern side of things. Heck it is super hot 500 miles north of here in the sub arctic today. Some summers we get the edge of the mid west gulf heat, and this is one of them, and I am not complaing, because summer is short here, and the past 3 summers were wetter and cooler than usual, this is melon and corn growin weather Quote
55 Fargo Posted July 16, 2011 Author Report Posted July 16, 2011 Just returned from the Lily Pad Cruisers Show and Shine about 15 miles from home, car ran excellent, only stayed about an hour or so, as I got there on the late side, engine ran at 165, all went went well on restarts too. Will post pics of the event, and this time did not take any pics of my car today........LOL Quote
1940plymouth Posted July 16, 2011 Report Posted July 16, 2011 Fred, you went to a cruise in, we went for pizza:) Quote

1940plymouth Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 91 in the shade here today, my son in Oklahoma just posted on fb that it is 113 degrees a few minutes ago Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 Well its just perfect here in the Evergreen State (Washington) about 72 degrees with a little cloud cover. Quote
Don Coatney Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 Very hot and humid here today. I had to braze weld my broken lawn mower muffler in all this heat. I fired up the torch and completed the job, did a test run, and all was well except I was wringing wet. I jumped in the shower with the water at full cold. Felt good but gravity was working on me extra hard so I elected to take a nap. With the air conditioner and a fan running full blast I hit the bed with no covers. An hour later I woke up and was shivering but it felt great and it still does. Is it just me or does heat increase the gravational pull? Quote
Niel Hoback Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 Don, here in Indianny we have huge gravity storms that can actually cause you to be horizontal anywhere there is a soft surface. It can also cause cold bevereges to fall repeatedly into your mouth. There is no fighting them, they must be obeyed. Quote
greg g Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 spodabee 98 tomorrow. We are headed for the mountains withthe camper and canoe. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 it has been a brutal season so far and we just now in the midst of thing so to say..we still have the hot August nights looming before us my new mower is fast and effective means to cut the orchard that has a bit of bahaia strewn thoughout it..I made sure I got a large 2 blade machine and not the 3 blade deck..a three blade deck has smaller blades and narrow deck and actually holds the bahia heads down and they spring up after you pass over..not now...OFF WITH THEIR HEADS Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 And up here in Washington it unseasonably cool for this time of the year. But hay I would rather have it this way than any of you guys in that heat storm back in the mid-west. Quote

Oh my, the gravity:rolleyes: Quote
PatS.... Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 We can't seem to string more than 2 or 3 days of 30c/86f degree weather before the rain and hail nail us and it goes down to 17-20c/62-68f. I prefer the 20 degree stuff now though. Summer just began here and come Sept it's all over...throw the snow tires on and dig out the shovel ;( Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 No Sun or heat here in the Seattle area-since last year, last summer was cold and sunless too. 2011 is going to be the worst spring summer ever! I want some sun and 90 degree weather!!!!!!!! Send you heat wave here! Quote
