I have one laying on my work bench as I type. It's gonna go in my 49 Suburban with a 59 Dodge truck 230 as soon as I figure out the linkage.

I hope you have an assembly manual to go with it. Apparently it uses a lot of nuts, bolts, screws and clamps.:D

Oh....that stuff is just left overs from my last repair. The gorilla tape is all I'll need for the installation. ;)

Reg you've gotten about as far as I have with my 2bbl install. Getting closer on the t5 part though.

Ed,

I sold you that manifold and carb at least 3 years ago and you still don't have it running on an engine! You and Reg better get your heads together and figure that linkage issue out! You will get at least 5 more HP:rolleyes:

Yes there is one out there , can you get the manifold too ? They are scarce .

no, cant get the manifold. i was hunting around in the local yard, saw someting metal laying inside the rotting pile that was once a seat in some chrysler straight-8 car, and there it was, whatever it is. it's some odd 90-degree 2 barrel carb, looks really cool.

I have a 1946 Chrysler NewYorker 8 cylinder business coupe with a stromberg 2 BBL on it. Chrysler used 2 barrel Strombergs up through early 1947 then went back to the carter 1bbl carbs till 1950-end of the Chrysler straight "8".

Like Reg, I'm in the "figuring out the linkage" stage. Here's my 2BB Stromberg and factory manifold sitting on my new 230, which will go in my B2B sometime during the next month. I'm waiting on a new clutch now.DSCF4802.jpg

Its not that I don't have it on a running engine its that the truck is in 100000 pieces. Check my thread for pictures. So far this spring I've gotten the pilot bushing pushed in and swapped to a car flywheel with holes for 9 and 10 inch clutches. Stalled on proper bolts for the 9in clutch. The engine originally had an 11 which uses bigger bolts.

You can get the adaptprs to mount a modern 2bbl like from a 273/318 to your 1bbl manifold. Last I looked they were 15 to 25 bucks depending on where you find them.

Reg, what model carb do you have? As near as I can tell, mine is a Stromberg WW, but I'm not sure its all there. I think its supposed to have an automatic choke and mine doesn't. Can you post a good photo of yours?

Here's some photos of what I have Jim. The third photo is of a 2nd NOS carb I have. Same type as the first.

Here's mine. I believe its a stromberg ww. I was able to find a carb kit for it at napa too. Think it was $13

Ok, guys. Mine doesn't have the automatic choke. It looks like its operated via vacuum. Also, my choke shaft runs all the way through the carb and out the other side. I'll post some photos later. Maybe this carb didn't come off a Dodge...

That looks a LOT like the carb on the 230 I picked up last month for my B1B... If it is the same I guess I'll get my cracked exhaust manifold ear fixed and figure out how the car throttle bell crank hooks into the truck...

Could have sworn I'd read 2bbl was 57-60, but my engine is out of a 56.

Dale are you just taunting us or are you going to share this find? Or better yes sell it to me for a profit....

Just saying sometime when you quit looking for something it just kinda finds you. The car owner asked me to buy the car and I removed the carb then another local guy called me about his need for the engine block and the net was a cost of $75, I always prefer being lucky to being good, Although my truck runs great now so I'll probably not mess with a good thing and just hang on to it for the future.
