That looks great. Brings back fond memories of when I re-assembled my '40. Of course I also scratched the new paint but it doesn't hurt as much now :)

Joe the car looks great, nice color, and good work.

Get her back together, and get her burning gas on the road. That's what these cars are meant for......

The dog is upset about a couple of gaps, he has of couse heard of the front sheetmetal referred to as a Dog house and he wants it just so... So back to work Joe!!!

Looks very nice.

Joe, based on what you started with and where you are working...nothing short of miraculous as far as I'm concerned.

The dog is barking to the neighbors to come have a look at his new ride!!!

Congratulations, Joe. Such a nice feeling to be bolting stuff back together and when nearly every work session it looks more and more like a car!

Joe, you've made a car! Have you been using all authentic looking fasteners and rubber bumpers (hood to fender) and welting and other stuff like that?

I am a little worried about all the spare time you'll have soon....any plans?

Thanks for the good words. I'm using new fasteners that look like the original. Stainless bolts where they'll show, like under the hood. I have my original rubber hood bumpers but I think I'll get replacements from Steele or someone. The splash guard material that goes on the inner fender wells I replaced with vinyl from Home Depot. Just cut it into the appropriate length strips and stapled it through the sheet metal where the original material was. That's going to take some tweaking and will probably have me swearing like a sailor (Wait, I already swear like a sailor). The beaded welting that goes between the rear fenders and the body you can get from the usual vendors.

Spare time? I won't have to worry about that for a long time. I still have a lot of work to do on this car. Also, in about four years my wife and I will be selling our house and leaving the DC area. I probably have two years' worth of house projects to do. Spare time? What's that?

Looks great. Hopefully my 48 will be looking similar in a week or so.
