Say the magic word....before joining the forum

Evidently a man from Indianapolis has bought a 47 Plymouth 2 door, and

tried to sign up for this forum. Not sure what he did or did not do, but he

could not get signed up.

Here's one of his comments from the HAMB........

I know nothing about this motor, or what it has for a transmission. I tried to join p15-d24, but they have a registration question "what is a common name for a mopar engine with valves in the block?" I'm no motor head, but if i recall the only ones that have valves in the blocks are flat heads. well I tried l-head, flat head, all the # sizes and got nothing, I sent them a email about it, and never got a answer, I even sent a second one, and still know answer. so guess they don't want new people on there site. which is a shame, because there's alot of info I can learn on there. anyway, I'm going to try and get it to run, then pull it, and swap a 360, 727, and put a 8 3/4 rear in it from a fury.

A picture of his car......when purchased.......

I guess I joined this forum prior to the introduction of the secret password. Is there a decoder ring that one could get?

If I needed to guess the answer to that question I'd start with "L-head"...

I tried logging out to go see the register area to see what its all about, but apparently my cookies are still current and I just get signed back in:(

You are a member, so you can just sign in. It is for people who are trying to register to become members.

I believe the reason for certain things like that question is to prevent

spammers from getting aboard. Like those weird looking letters you

have to copy on some sites.

Made me feel kinda' stupid - getting turned down the first time, but I had written it as either two words, or hyphenated, I don't remember which. I just kept trying it different ways until it went through.

And I get email from the other two percent. Just having that one little question killed the spammers. 99.9998% gone! I was getting hit upwards to 50 spam registrations a day, stopped totally.

GTK, I told the guy whom I mentioned the correct answer to the question.

I felt bad that he didn't get it right, and seemed to want to join in here.

Whether he will sign up ultimately, will just wait and see.

Thanks for all you do to keep this forum going.

Suggestion: can you set it up to allow the 3 spellings of flathead people seem to be using as correct? flathead flat head and flat-head

I did make it. Thanks for the help.I got it but wasn't able to post for a awhile... Is there a intro section? I know I'm new but its a little hard to navigate the site for the first time. Can I make a small suggestion? Maybe break up the forums a bit by adding sub forums like suspension, engine, etc. Ill wait for a intro till I know where to put it. Thanks again for nthose that helped me get on here.

Hi crazietj. Welcome. Glad you made it. There is no separate "intro" section (as far as I know). You can just start a thread in this section to say hello.

Looking forward to seeing some pictures of your Plymouth.

Please don't break up the forum into separate sections!

There is at least one forum I've pretty much stopped going to because to find the latest postings I have to go through many different sub-forums. Too much work.

As for where to post an introduction, just do it as a new topic in either the truck area or the car area depending on where you think you'll be spending most of your time..

And welcome aboard!

Took me three tries

L head

Flat head

Flathead

I was starting to get a little nervous that I wouldn't get into the "club"

Can't be a very exclusive club. After all I'm in it. :)

Over on the HAMB, they have a special, separate intro section.

Of course, we do not have that here, which is just as well....in my

opinion. Just start a new thread to say hi and give a little background

info.......where from, what car(s), etc.

Hello crazie and welcome aboard. Once you get the hang of it, this

forum is fairly easy to use.

That is the very reason it is an exclusive club:eek:

Got me to thinking and that is a very dangerous thing. Opposite is I think inclusive. Anyone ever join an inclusive club?

When I see the word exclusive I see dollar ($$$$) signs.
