What counts, looks like we have plenty of readers on every topic, but the average response rate is somewhere at 5% or so???

Are people afraid to get smashed if they disagree or what, that's not the nature of this forum. I at least would enjoy seeing different approaches, styles and methods, opinions and whatever is the matter of subject.

I am sure in time they will step forward...it is good to feel about a site first before getting feet wet...some will see that their best interest may lay in antoher forum..could be some of these amble away to a more purist group..maybe even the other extreme...this is a good mix here..but extremeist on either end could find the site lacking..

I haven't seen what you call bullying here. A few have run out of patience a time or two but that's about it. This is one of the best forums going.

My, my, my...ask thoughtful, well reasoned questions and get thoughtful well reasoned answers. This forum is one of the most laid back sites on the net and yet, on occasion, some are spurred into...certain dialogue...because the OP, will somehow fail to actually understand and/or make use of the information offered.

I think that some folks simply do not want to engage in conversation. They may well prefer to just read along and gather thoughts.

I am on a few forums and find this one to be very laid back with a group of people that have a wealth of knowledge and experience.

I have no seen any bullying...yet...but I get the feeling that this is not a site that promotes this kind of behavior.

I have to admit I am guilty of lurking for many years. This site is the best and I have learned a HUGE amount of information - but I normally don't post because my technical knowledge is miniscule compared to others here. I'm trying to post when I have a bit to contribute - my goal is to upgrade my profile from junior member :)

I am very new to this addiction of old cars, also new to this site.

I am guilty of lurking in the weeds and not posting, but I spend a lot of time reading posts and searching the archives. I quite often find the answers to my questions before I ask them or am even sure what to ask. I have learned so much by doing this that I am no longer intimidated by the tasks I take on. When I do have something to add, I try to do it. I am not afraid of being ridiculed, I have 2 teenage sons who make fun of me every chance they get.( Apparently, I am neither Hip nor Cool) (But I still control their cash flow).

I find this site very informative and HELPFUL, please do not lose interest in it for my sake if not for your own.

i am not as smart as alot of people on this forum so often questions are answered much better and faster than i could. i do comment on posts of more general nature. i unfortunately have found that my questions usually get very little response and the only reason i come up with for that is that i am not on here all the time like so many regulars are. a post about things not car related will get 20 responses and if i ask a question about my brakes i get one or two. there is so much info on here that my questions usually find an answer on someone elses post, so i am not whining. just wish i felt a little more noticed. For my part I have to say I have not came across any better car forum in the web but this.

The people for most are laid back and straight forward, very easy to talk with.

I've got very thorough answers for all my technical questions in very short response time. Also lot of invaluable hints where to get parts etc.

Some of the fellows have even helped me to get parts from salvage yards or their own storages, which is great value for an over seas builder like I.R.

I consider the regulars as my friends, I have to scan the forum a couple of time every week just to see what the guys are chatting...

I strongly encourage each & every low profile hangarounds to join the conversation - this site is for winners!

Hello all,

Been lurking for a while now because I mostly do streetrods. I do enjoy reading about all the adventers with the flatheads. I enjoy it so much I bough a 49 Dodge completly stock. Did do some mods and I am enjoying it. Some quirks happened but still a solid ride. I am well aware how reliable these engines are. My 47 PLym was a basket case given to me because the P.O. said it was too far gone to be fixed. New floors, rockers, trunk, subrame, and HEMI, almost ready to go.

Neil,

Nothing like a pair of teenage children to relieve you of any illusions you may have had that you were cool. I'm so uncool to my daughters that I play to my strengths. I've taken uncoolness to such lengths that I just may have come full circle. I'm so square, I'm hip.

I was afraid to post anything because i didn't want to offend you guys .. I got to know Tim Adams,, and we swapped some parts.. I now know that you guys have a great attitude even with someone who's car is not even close to stock .. i am looking for some hard to find parts ,, and i look on this site every day .. will be searching for more parts as cash allows .. .....thanks ... bob...

Nice looking car, Any pictures of the subframe. Just want to compare. Did you use a front steer or rear steer clip?

i havn't took any pics of sub frame yet .. it is a rear steer clip.. steering box sits just above left foot ,, so i will have to make-up a steering column.. I think it will be one from a case cotton picker that i have .. has to come out from steering wheel ,, go to the left than turn down and go to box ,, 2 u-joints and 1 anti-whip bearing should work .. then make-up a outer case .. i've done several of them on school buses .. guess i'll have to take some pics.. when i get out of hospital ,, having my left kidney removed tomorrow...thanks for the input .. bob..

I am relatively new to the forum and also lurk a lot without posting. My main reasons are: my truck is a second series 55 C-3-B8, not a true "pilot house". Truck also has a 259 V8 so the "flatheads" don't interest me. I have posted regarding disc brakes using the rustyhope kit.

I still find TONS of useful and entertaining info on this site. I'm probably one of many who would always feel just a little OT.
