..., Sailor Jerry. We'll all share a Coke lol :D I'll throw on some vintage tunes and let the drunken teens fight it out with the police on the roadways. Fortunately, my daughter, now 22, has never been much into drinking. She is home from college and will be staying with us, so I don't have to worry about her out there either :)

Was there a documented year zero in 01BC, 0, 1AD? anddowe go 1 through 0 or 0thorugh 9, and who is incharge of this mess. All I really care about is later this year I can start collecting Social Security. Always wanted a government job.

No year zero, it runs 3BC, 2BC, 1BC, 1AD, 2AD, 3AD, etc., and so it takes to the number 10 year to complete a decade. I suspect most people have never given it a lot of thought.

It is kinda of like the Saturday/Sunday thing has gradually happened, with Saturday actually being the last day of the week and Sunday the first day of the week, but there are a heck of a lot of people that think Sunday is the last day of the week, as it is widely considered the last day of the "weekend", and Monday is now what they consider their first day of the week.

But , congratulations on beginning your countdown to your upcoming retirement, that has to be good, no matter how you figure it! Joel

And I, have the fewests posts of anyone on this thread...so far. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to becoming a "Member, been hanging around for a while". Then, someday this coming year, I hope to even contribute a useful tidbit, here and there.

Tonight, in anticipation of the several FEET of snow we are supposed to get over the weekend, we'll likely go out and mingle for a little while, I won't last till midnight though, those days are behind me.

Oh heck, maybe I'll even do a little wiring.

One of my favorites. I just this week pulled it out to watch again.

was out doing my running around early..finally decided on what I wanted for the new years meal...grabbed a bottle of the sparkling red grape juice as our traditional toast...so guess I am in for the evening/night...be keeping an eye out for you folks on the forum....

We went for lunch today at Fred & Red's chili emporium on Main Street

in Joplin.....something we've done on this day for about 17 years now.

It only has a horseshoe counter for seating. If it's full when you arrive,

you just stand around til someone gets done and a seat becomes available.

Usually see someone we know while there.

(These are actually pictures from last year.....too much icy/snowy/messy

stuff still on the side streets and parking lots to take the Plymouth out

this time.)

We're just staying home, having a nice meal and relaxing. I think New Year's Eve celebrations are over-rated. And it's a good night to stay off the highways. There are bound to be many intoxicated morons driving around out there tonight.

The 47 warming up, but not going anyhwere as it,a) the seats are out, B) it is far too cold, and there is snow on the ground.

But Happy New Year to all of you, all the Best in 2010......Fred

Celebrating New Years at home. Watching the Three Stooges marathon. Our two granddaughters ages 10 and 11 are staying all night. We have sparklers, noise makers and hats, we are ready to party down!

Happy New Years to everyone.

Hey Michael, talk about "Conspicuous Consumption", up here you could rent some mightly fine office space;) for that coin, or buy a Mansion:eek:, no problem.

Glad you paid out the bonuses, , as in Business "you get what you pay for", so share your wealth, and get wealthier in the process....

Thanks again for all the help and information with my car this past year, in the middle of a brake overhaul. Will post pictures and updates as soon as I have some more progress.

Happy New Year
