T120 Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 ...We're going to spend a quiet evening at home for a change.Plan on watching an old Clint Eastwood flick, (have the DVD). It's titled "Honkytonk Man" .Saw it years ago in the theater. Quote
David Maxwell Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 (edited) ..., Sailor Jerry. We'll all share a Coke lol I'll throw on some vintage tunes and let the drunken teens fight it out with the police on the roadways. Fortunately, my daughter, now 22, has never been much into drinking. She is home from college and will be staying with us, so I don't have to worry about her out there either Edited December 31, 2009 by David Maxwell typo Quote
JoelOkie Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 Was there a documented year zero in 01BC, 0, 1AD? anddowe go 1 through 0 or 0thorugh 9, and who is incharge of this mess. All I really care about is later this year I can start collecting Social Security. Always wanted a government job. No year zero, it runs 3BC, 2BC, 1BC, 1AD, 2AD, 3AD, etc., and so it takes to the number 10 year to complete a decade. I suspect most people have never given it a lot of thought. It is kinda of like the Saturday/Sunday thing has gradually happened, with Saturday actually being the last day of the week and Sunday the first day of the week, but there are a heck of a lot of people that think Sunday is the last day of the week, as it is widely considered the last day of the "weekend", and Monday is now what they consider their first day of the week. But , congratulations on beginning your countdown to your upcoming retirement, that has to be good, no matter how you figure it! Joel Quote
michael.warshaw Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 wow..bet that is not the only ball that gets dropped in your office... what does this mean ? Quote
maine48ply Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 And I, have the fewests posts of anyone on this thread...so far. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to becoming a "Member, been hanging around for a while". Then, someday this coming year, I hope to even contribute a useful tidbit, here and there. Tonight, in anticipation of the several FEET of snow we are supposed to get over the weekend, we'll likely go out and mingle for a little while, I won't last till midnight though, those days are behind me. Oh heck, maybe I'll even do a little wiring. Quote

BobT-47P15 Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 We went for lunch today at Fred & Red's chili emporium on Main Street in Joplin.....something we've done on this day for about 17 years now. It only has a horseshoe counter for seating. If it's full when you arrive, you just stand around til someone gets done and a seat becomes available. Usually see someone we know while there. (These are actually pictures from last year.....too much icy/snowy/messy stuff still on the side streets and parking lots to take the Plymouth out this time.) Quote
Oldguy48 Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 We're just staying home, having a nice meal and relaxing. I think New Year's Eve celebrations are over-rated. And it's a good night to stay off the highways. There are bound to be many intoxicated morons driving around out there tonight. Quote
55 Fargo Posted December 31, 2009 Author Report Posted December 31, 2009 The 47 warming up, but not going anyhwere as it,a) the seats are out, it is far too cold, and there is snow on the ground. But Happy New Year to all of you, all the Best in 2010......Fred Quote
