Plymouthy Adams Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 (edited) don't have a dog in that fight..I am not much a club/meeting/event oriented person where judging vehicles are part of the activities..I have been totally burnt out on this subject over the years and find my blood pressure stays closer to norm by staying away.. james curl Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 Went to a small car show Saturday for the FFA bosters club and the classifications that they had put my car in the street rod open class so that is what I put on my card. There was a 42 Ford todor there, black with a four barrell intake manifold, alum.finned heads, headers and he was entered in the stock classic class. After the judging I was called up and given a 2nd place plack for stock classic class, told them I thought they had made a mistake it should be in the street rod class as it has more than four modifications. They told me to just take the plack and be quite. Then they called me back and said they had made a mistake, I had won the first place coveted belt buckle, the fellow with the 42 Ford got 2nd place in the same class and was not happy, so I see you point. Normspeed Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 Rollie, just wondering, did you register twice on the forum? I see your original I.D. was Rolliejoe, and now a second member shows (on my screen) as Rollie###. (Can't pull up the actual character shown but it's similar to the # symbol) Assuming you're one and the same since you have the same car:D Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 no comment Not only that but this is what I see behind Rollie and also in your signature. Quote
Rollie Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 I think you guys are just seeing things. This is what I see: Quote
Merle Coggins Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 The resolution is poor on your screen shot, but I also see what Norm showed. There are two little rectangles after your user name and several more down by your signature line. Merle Quote
Young Ed Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 This is what I see and what the others are seeing too. Quote
Jim Saraceno Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 In squares I see this: 00 00 00 8F 90 8F I had just assumed it was the DPDC logo until I took a closer look Quote
TodFitch Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 My browser just has a blank area. My guess is that some unicode characters got in and this forum is telling our browsers that everything should be the MS Windows character set (or the ISO equivalent of the MS Windows character set, ISO-8859-1). Rollie Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 Tod has got it right. I wanted a 6 character user name and the minimum is eight. Thus I thought I was being slick by using the alternate unicode character for a blank (alt+0143). Not everyone is using the same character set though, sorry for messing around. alt codes are fun though ♫ ☼ ►◄ Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 Rollie, I can see why you did that now. But........ya have to understand. A lot of us old fogies are lucky just knowing how to turn the computer on and off.:D So........we don't know anything about codes. Quote
