Hi

Who can bore holes in glass tail light lenses fro Blue Dot installation??

Ward NY

Maybe if you gave us a clue of what car you're working on, you might get a better answer.

No clue in his profile....no info entered as to what car he has.

My guess would be it's a Chrysler product.:D

I once drilled holes in a 1951 Ford plastic lense to add blue dots.

That was pretty easy.

On one of these ol Mopars, I'd say not so easy.

Probably easier to buy a set, if available.

I'm going to take the blue dot lenses off my Plym and go back to original lenses.

The originals should make the light brighter for turn and stop signals.....easier to see.

However, gonna keep them just in case I decide to use them later.

You didn't go far enough Bob....Under all threads started by, Ward asks about trim for a 46-48 DeSoto S-11 in his first thread.

Nonetheless, it would be nice if people would either list their year and make

of car in the upper right info on posts, or in their signature space at the

bottom.

a profile it does go a long way in getting a correct answer...it only takes a minute to list your car and general area, I know a lot of people care not to get very "defined" on an open forum..if you don't care to list your name for fear somone may find you in the phone book or 411..just say south esat, central etc etc..

I'm really not too concerned if any one came to Trenton to see me. Just don't be upset if I'm at the plant or if I take a while to answer the door because I was sleeping. Leave me a note, go in the garage, check out my car, grab yourself a soda out of the fridge, and I'll be around eventually. :P

..Sounds great,Benjamin -Trenton,MO sounds like a welcoming place to visit.:)

...it just so happens that the standard blue dot fits perfectly into the reflector hole in the tail light bezels. You can rig a wire and bulb behind it and the efect is cool, though not exactly like the purple glow you get from a blue dot mounted on the ruby red glass. Just a thought for anyone considering avoiding the long arm of the law.

it appears New York is a blue dot state

as far as I know that never made it out of the committee and has not been acted upon.

Greg..the site I visted was misleading..it appers that NY IS NOT YET allowing them..however I found on other sites that they seem not to be bothering motorcycles with the blue dots and others have reprted that the antique cars are not harassed but everything is subject to where you live...no good..the original bill did die it seems but has been re-introduced under a new bill number...A.B. 2429 now is the time for the hobbiest/collector etc to flood their representatives mailbox asking support for the bill

SEMA is pretty much a clearing house for all pending and resolved issues of the hobby and I failed to check that site prior to my posting..so to prevent anyone just from popping in and seeing the single post out of context I am going to exit my previous remark...

If you want to drill hole in glass (any glass) go to some one who does ' stained glass' ( as I do that also ) , most glass guys have a grinder smoothen and form the edges, one 1/4 '' grinder bit can also be used to 'grind ' a hole in the glass.
