Can't be in the show but they set up an area at the Detroit show to display the other cars and trucks that showed up. And you and your friends will be welcomed at the Friday night get together, Just bring a favorite food to share and BYOB for drinks. We will start getting set up aroud 5 or so in the hotel parking lot.

Wish I could be there to see all the other outlaws but I can't get away. I know the get togethers are always fun. I met a few at the meet in Wisconsin at the swap meet. JohnS

Greg,

Are Dodge pickups welcome to POC events? I have several freinds in the Westminster area and might rattle on down, if no one would be offended. Can you give me the particulars - date, time and location?

Thanks

Merle registered his truck for the WI meet. He came on the tours etc.

John how much swap meet stuff you got left?

I still have about 1/2 of what I started with in Wisconsin. I sold most of the good stuff there and a few things at the POC Colonial regions anniversary in Connecticut. You were by far my best customer in Wisconsin.

The remainder of parts are in boxes in the basement til spring when I'll inventory them and maybe learn to E-bay. JohnS

I think I mentioned earlier I was bringing the 58. Well, I got a call on my cell last week at work from someone in the Maryland region. It started out simple enough, the received my registration form, verified my name, my wife’s name, etc. Then they mentioned I didn’t register my car. You see, I elected not to spend the $45 to have my car judged. So this person the proceeds to tell me I wouldn’t get a dash plaque, wouldn’t be included in the pictures (that get submitted to the Bulletin), and wouldn’t be allowed on the show field. I didn’t want to get into a discussion at work with everyone listening, so I politely said thank you and hung up. So there really isn’t much incentive to drive the car 1200 miles to the meet. Look for me driving the Durango.

Interesting lack of response for a long time member and supporter. I put a Do Not Judge note on my car. Since it is modified, and I recieve no points for the engine, always get points deducted because the judges assume my paint is base coat clear coat ( which it isn't) I get no points for wheels and tires cause they are aftermarket, and low points for chassis cause it is what it is after 63 years. Oh and they would deduct points for my bullseye headlights also.

So I go to talk to the folks and see the cars, Don't go to the dinners, might go on a tour or two but, and since no judging there is no sense going to the 40 dollar rubber chicken banquet either.

To me if your bring a car, and they tell you they won't take a picture, so are there going to be pixel police in the line for the photog??????????????

This is where they do not do the club any favors, and do a diservice to folks who might be thinking of joining the club with that kind of approach to participants.

At Detroit we showed up and registered, I did not mention I wasn't a club member, nor did I say I was going not have the car judged.

Guess I may have t make up a POCO banner for the canopy and for the Tail gate party.

Perhaps even fly the mayflower logo upside down as a symbol of distress.

Lee, dont give up so easy. I would call Bob Kerico @ 6184446966 (Current President of POC) and share your story. This is the kind of stuff they pull, and then wonder why memberships and show attendance is down. Bring the

CAR, we need it.

They pulled that same stunt on me at the Peoria meet. Only I was already there. Drove through 3 states in a 63 valiant and had to park in the other parking lot of the hotel because I didn't register it.

I got the same story in Charlotte two years ago. Last summer in Detroit I did not register but I did park on the show lot. I did not get in the picture taking line-up.

Greg, my crew will have 4 in attendance, both of my sons are flying our for the show, and a good friend is coming form New Jersey for the parking lot party. I know a couple of other Car Guys are coming (Steve and Jim) but they are afraid to drive their cars that far (just kidding) I am sure we will find a few other wayward members to attend

Yes, took the drums to two differnt machine shop, on the outside they looked fine, but apparnetly when I put the new studs in I bent the inner part of the brake drum, hubs are OK , basically they are junk. Called everyone I knew, George Asche to the Rescue (first one to confirm he had a set of 11 inch DODGE drums) Should be here by Wednesday of next week. During the build we discovered that my Plymouth has a Dodge rearend in it with the bigger brakes. So if I couldn't have found a set of Dodge rear Drums, I was going to pull the rearend out of my 49 put it in the 47 for the trip to Westminster! I was going and I want to drive my car! See you on the parking lot!
