John Burke Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 I bought gas, near here, for $1.94 today. Had to look around a bit but there were several places selling it for that. The guy in the station said it would probably go down again next week....Wheeeeee time to pack and head for South Padre......John B. Quote
david lazarus Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Just worked out the conversions (US gallon/US$ from litre and NZ$) and on a good day we pay the equivalent of $2.95 or more:eek: ....you guys have it sweet!! Quote
John Burke Posted January 17, 2007 Author Report Posted January 17, 2007 Man that's a bummer. What's it like driving down under in NZ? Do you have a large hiway/road network? Are there lots of cool places to visit? I imagine this is your summer...John B. Quote
Guest mikeys toy Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 2.05 here; my dad just paid 2.60 in san diego Quote
David Maxwell Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 We seem to match or beat New Zealand with prices over $2.90 for regular and I believe I saw $3.15 for premium today. Quote
thedahmer Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 you guys are getting clipped paid $1.85 for it yesterday in Jackson Mo Quote
Young Ed Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Ours just went up from 1.93 to 1.99! I got a day or two before I need gas so I'm hoping it heads back down. Quote
bob westphal Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 The lowest I've seen around here is $2.51 at the local ARCO. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Right now, some places in southwest MO are $1.99....others at 2.02 or 2.03 for regular. Quote
1just4don Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 this link has the cheapest gas in your locale or where you ar going. Some lag time cause they are using credit card reciepts or some such to turn in prices. Dont take as gospel,,,but gets you going right general direction,,,and SOMETIMES big diffrences. You can check for others, other places of the world and get a sorta map to get there. Enjoy the cheapest gas in town http://autos.msn.com/everyday/GasStations.aspx?m=1&l=1&zip=68701&x=18&y=7 locally I paid $2.19 a couple days ago. prices SHOULD be lowerr than they are!! BUT we all know prices go up very fast and down very slow,,,imagine how many gallons in the pipelines of supply and how many dollars that is all total. Biggest present they could EVER get!! Thats where the 'serious' money is made every time the price changes!! They WILL find a reason to jack it back up by next spring!! Quote

Hi John, no our roading network is almost 3rd world, all roads are stone chip and tar (rips your tyres up and chips your cars to hell), very few motorways and I have to say NZ drivers are not great and somewhat aggresive...a moments lack of concentration ...you wander over the centre line of our narrow roads and SMACK.....pearly gates here we come. But...for scenery absolutely amazing..1 and 1/2 hours drive can take you from alpine desert/snow, forest, farmland, vineyards to the beach!!! Quote
JerseyHarold Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 I paid $2.02.9 for regular this morning here in beautiful New Jersey. Quote
wldavis3 Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 David Maxwell, Also, Santa Maria is so far inland that it's very expensive to truck fuel that far. Quote
Young Ed Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 My plan worked I just filled up for 1.89! Quote
JohnS48plm Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 It's $1.94 here in Michigan. Maybe it will drop a little more before I need to fill up. Quote
1just4don Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 Price was $2.09 BUT the guy fixing my tire(reason for the station run) said gas was going UP 'last night'!! Didnt say why, just what the boss told him yesterday late. Wonder what was going on that pushed things UP again??? Anybody else hear anything??? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 There was a refinery fire earlier this week I think I heard from news running in the background...not only go up, but I feel it will be there a bit..that makes two of five refineries with damage in recent history.. Quote
AJ Johnson Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 It is hovering around $1.95 -$1.99 here. Typically we are almost always around the lowest in the nation. Heck we should be, you can't throw a stone around here without hitting a refinery. Citgo, Valero, Koch, Flint Hills, etc. But it has been in the 30's-40's all week. They will find any reason to raise prices. Heck it jumped about 10-15 cents because of New Years only to fall again a few days later. There are some perks to living in S. Texas. Not having A/C in the Coronet is NOT one of them. But I can ride motorcycles almost year round. AJ Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 It was $2.42 today at work at Fort Irwin, Ca. Dennis:( Quote
greg g Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 still 2.49 here in the state of Taxes. Central NY a great place for three days in May. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 Yesterday it was $1.89 at four area stations. Too bad I could only fill up once. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 Bought some for 1.94 at our local Sam's Club yesterday. Other places have it for 1.95, 1.96 right now. Been a bit over $2 for the most part lately....S W MO. Quote
Ed Griffin Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 Filled up the wifes Mustang at $1.92 yesterday and see it going down abt a penny every other day at the moment. Heard of it being $1.8? nearby last night, might have to start going by there. Quote
AJ Johnson Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 Down to $1.85 today. It still amazes me that I will go out of my way to save a few cents filling up. Heck, I probably spend more on Diet Pepsi everyday than I save by going to a different gas pump. Just glad we don't have to pay as much as those poor Europeans (unless you are in parts of California - but then, that is your own fault). AJ Quote
