Note to BobT, that's the canned heat version of the song...:) A bluesman like you night know the tune..

Tomorrow morning I'm headed out on a nice road trip across the southeast. Might not see a computer for a while. I hope to drop in on Tim Adams some time early next week. Then onward to Grandadeo's, then southwest to the Gulf of Mexico for some boating and fishing. I'll post some travel pics along the way. Be back in NM around the end of April.

Y'all be good...

Norm, have a great trip and try to stay outta trouble. Hope the car runs well and we will all look forward to the pictures. Take care and have fun!

Norm......there's also "Going Up The Country" and "Leaving This Town".

I hadn't heard "OnThe Road Again" for a long time. I saw them in person

back in the 70s in Springfield, MO.

Norm, I like the way you think:) I like to hit the road and see new things however I can't stay away that long. Please be safe and alert. This is a different, difficult time. Speaking of blues men, B B king and I think Muddy water's where in DC last week. They caused a huge ruckus here.

What roads are you taking across Texas? I/10 has an 80 mph limit to just outside of Kerrville. The hill country from Junction to San Antonio has lots of good places to see. If you go 90 down along the Rio Grande you can see the Pecos river gorge. If you take I/10 be sure to take the old highway to Sheffield, it loops off of I/10 between Bakersfield and Ozona and it comes out of the desert and through the Pecos River valley and back up to high country. Stop at the TXDOT Travel Information Station outside of El Paso in Anthony and get a free Texas map, the state produces the best maps of the state. Hope you have a good trip across Texas, just try to advoid Big "D" and Houston because of the traffic.

Have a good trip Norm, on a culinary note, Make sure you eat at Whataburger at least once on your 900 mile trip from El Paso to Beaumont:D its good eatin! Also pay attention when I-10 splits or you'll end up in Nawleans instead of Hammond:eek:I-12 is the route unless you want to detour.

Canned Heat - On the Road Again Lyrics

Send “On the Road Again” Ringtone to Your Cell

Well, I'm so tired of crying, but i'm out

on the road again.

- I'm on the road again.

Well, I'm so tired of crying, but I'm out

on the road again.

- I'm on the road again.

I ain't got no woman

Just to call my special friend.

You know the first time I traveled out

in the rain and snow,

- In the rain and snow.

You know the first time I traveled out

in the rain and snow,

- In the rain and snow.

I didn't have no payroll,

Not even no place to go.

And my dear mother left me when

I was quite young,

- When I was quite young.

And my dear mother left me when

I was quite young,

- When I was quite young.

She said "Lord, have mercy

On my wicked son."

Take a hint from me, mama, please

don't you cry no more,

- Don't you cry no more.

Take a hint from me, mama, please

don't you cry no more,

- Don't you cry no more.

'Cause it's soon one morning

Down the road I'm going.

But I aint going down that

long old lonesome road

All by myself.

But I aint going down that

long old lonesome road

All by myself.

I can't carry you, Baby,

Gonna carry somebody else

OK, I missed it. What car is Norm driving? Is this the Norm you guys are always giving a hard time to about not leaving his driveway?

Nope, It is the other Norm. The one who actually drives his old Plymouth.

B.B.'s still playing. I believe Muddy Waters passed away.

Yes, McKinley Morganfield (Muddy Waters) passed on in 1983.

For the last several years, there has been a Muddy tribute band,

headed by his former guitarist named Bob Margolin. They play at clubs

and festivals all over the world.

Muddy went from Mississippi to Chicago in the 1940s, and became

the leading player in amplified guitar blues music.

Now his son, Big Bill Morganfield, age 52, is a noted blues man.

Been keeping in touch with Ol' Normspeed on his trip east. Yesterday he almost made it out of NM. Camped at a city park in Hobbs, NM about 5 miles before crossing into TX. Tonight he was NE of Dallas and had just pulled into a TX state park that had a $10 self service camping fee, just put your money in the box and pick your own campsite. Sounds like he's having a good trip so far although he said the Dallas traffic was murder. Had a little gas problem and changed out the fuel filter with the spare he had with him. He's trying to stay off the interstates as much as possible and enjoy the sites. He said the Momad is purring like a kitten, except for the one gas hiccup. I'll keep ya'll posted on his east bound and down progress

If he's still in Dallas area, mention to Normspeed to give me a call if he needs to check e-mail or assistance or a place to park his trailer overnight (cell 214-402-6974 & Off 469-341-2444). I have hook-ups and a garage in the city and all the tools he needs for fix-ins. Don't get many Mopar passingthru's in Dallas.

Sounds like he's heading down I-45 to Houston on the way to Gulf of Mexico. I have plently of BB King & Willie Nelson.

No, he's hugging I-20 on his way to Atlanta. Trying to do some back roads when he can. I think he was shooting for Northern AL tonight. He hasn't checked in yet. I'll post an update if we connect.

Kinda looking for an update from him myself..and though Bill has issued an official work warning forecast..I will not put him to work..after the amount of work I did yesterday my carpal turnnel that had been but mild for a long time now has flared up again..to many 16 penny nails driven...

Tim, it's time for the air nailer, even the Harbour Freight models. What is 16 penny in type and size.

My Dad was in the lumber business for 40 years he knew all the penny weight sizes, even though in Canada we don't use them.

When I am doing bodywork, my CP also acts up, have it as a result of being a meatcutter for 10 plus years before getting Government work........Fred

got an air nailer..got a few air nailers..(Stanley Bostich) and for the most part have used the stud nailer extensively throughout the remodel..but in the newly reclaimed attic space..and cutting the rafters to install a ridgeboard...shoring up the rafters etc etc..nail gun would have been in my way. And in a number os spaces the gun would not get where I needed to be..barely had room to drive nails with a hammer. IN a couple of places the access was so limited that I had to use a 3/8 drive long extension to start, drive and seat nails...Anyway...today I should be running drywall as the son-in-law will be here to help..hope to get the rest of the staiwell finished..

Well today's update finds Normspeed still making his way east on his trip to Sunny South Florida. He found a nice campground in the Vicksburg, MS area and then made in into GA for the Weekend and a visit with his Mom. Said he was in Hotlanta camping at Stone Mountain...in the snow. Still plans on visiting a favorite old campground farther south in GA before hitting FL. The Momad is humming along but he said those Atlanta drivers with all their driving in the snow expierience scared the heck out of him.
