Norm's Coupe Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Must be a space ship under the snow in our front yard. Every night the snow gets this green circle in it. During the day it's white again. Quote
aero3113 Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 That's weird, this guy showed up on my lawn the other day and hasn't moved!!! I wonder if he lost his ride and it showed up at your house Norm Quote
55 Fargo Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Must be a space ship under the snow in our front yard. Every night the snow gets this green circle in it. During the day it's white again. Hey Norm, must be your glowball bowling ball under the snow, or your solar powered lawn ornament buried in the snow................Fred Quote
randroid Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Norm, There's an obvious indentation in the snow around the perimeter, and that indicates a source of heat. You obviously have demons in your yard, so try to line-up an exorcism, like on next Thursday if you know any Priests who won't have anything better to do that day. -Randy Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted December 23, 2008 Author Report Posted December 23, 2008 Don't own a bowling ball, nor any solar powered lawn ornaments. Anything solar powered wouldn't work anyway if it was buried because it wouldn't get any light. It's gone now. It usually goes away after about 11 PM, then returns the next night. Wonder how bright it will be tomorrow night after we get another 2 to 5 inches of snow on the ground. I think it's more of a job for Superman to get rid of the green light. However, he won't check it out because he thinks it's Kryptonite. Quote
pflaming Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Better green than yellow! At least it's politically correct! Quote
John Mulders Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 maybe investigate and use a BFH on it? Wear safety glasses for protection again alien beams John Quote
Don Coatney Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 In my best mister obvious voice... Norm; Have you noticed that the green light appears at the same time you turn on your outside Christmas decorations? And does it go off when the decorations are turned off? Quote
Reg Evans Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 In a similar tone to Don's Hello !!..... Duh !!... who doesn't know aliens are always attracted to Christmas lights ? ....Geez Quote
Merle Coggins Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 What... no matching Red glow? Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted December 23, 2008 Author Report Posted December 23, 2008 In my best mister obvious voice...Norm; Have you noticed that the green light appears at the same time you turn on your outside Christmas decorations? And does it go off when the decorations are turned off? Don, Don't have any outside decorations. All the statues are still in the garage in the loft. Haven't put those out for several years. Got tired of having to leave them out there until March. Things would get buried in the snow and freeze to the ground so you could not get them up until then. All we have is a wreath out there on the house now. Merle, we don't live in the "Red Light" district, so no red lights out there. Quote
Young Ed Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 I'm starting to wonder if Norm took out a traffic light on his way around the block and tried to hide the evidence in his yard..... Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 With the weather up Norm's way, it would likely be a good idea to keep all the brass monkeys in the shed, too Quote
Captain Neon Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 With the weather up Norm's way, it would likely be a good idea to keep allthe brass monkeys in the shed, too Can I ask a really dumb question? I realise at 35 I'm probably supposed to know the answer, but could some one please explain the significance of brass monkeys when the weather begins to get cold? I've heard the expression for years, but never understood the joke. Could some one please get me up to speed on that one? Thanks! Quote
Don Coatney Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 I'm starting to wonder if Norm took out a traffic light on his way around the block and tried to hide the evidence in his yard..... I think you are correct Young Ed; Norm failed to stop at a green light as there are no red lights in his hood. Can I ask a really dumb question? I realise at 35 I'm probably supposed to know the answer, but could some one please explain the significance of brass monkeys when the weather begins to get cold? Captain Neon Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 When I was in Roswell, I saw something similar... I think on Mars they say, "Don't eat glowing green snow." Quote
greg g Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 all this talk about iron cannon balls and brass deck fitments Bahhhh. I know it cold when you open the door step out side take a deep breath of he crisp clear air and your nostrils freeze shut...... Probably if norm buried his lamp in our front yard, you couldn't tell what color it was. Seasonal snow fall as of today stads at 62.4 inches. 22 since Friday morning. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted December 23, 2008 Author Report Posted December 23, 2008 Well guys, guess I've got to fess up. It is a spot light anchored in the ground with a green bulb down under all that snow. Must be at least about 13 or 14 inches below the top of the snow. Was supposed to shine on the wreath on the front door. But..........now it only makes the snow glow. That said, Don was wrong. I never turn that light on or off. It's on a timer and turns on and off all by itself. Quote
