Chester Brzostowski Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 I finally go to the paint. My wife said that it doesn't look to much different then it did on September 26, 2004. when it first followed me home. She did say it looks a lot healthier. In a way she is right. The big difference is the 4 years of work that is behind the primer. Every component of the car from the motor to the differential has been cleaned, repaired, replaced or fabricated into perfect working order. This coming weekend I will sand the car one last time then the paint shop can have her in the Spring. John Mulders Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Good work Chet, yep, most things done are not visible! Looking forward to the final paint pictures. John Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Pretty amazing Chet......all the work it took to get it back to something that resembles where you started. Once it's painted, it will be fun putting things back on and watching it look more and more like it should. Enjoyed the weekend updates. Quote
Jim Yergin Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Chet, Looking good. Do you think we will both make it to Sully in 2009? Jim Yergin Quote
falconvan Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Looks great, Chet. Wow, I went through your build site and there is a lot of great stuff. I bought mine in pieces and looking at your build shows me how a lot of things go together that I wasn't sure about. Thanks for the great documentation! Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 your rear fender now shows holes for gravel guards..did you find stainless or hard rubber..could not see these in the original picture..I had a chance to grab two stainless but both of the same side..did not want to take a chance not finding the other side..passed..stillhave not seen another at a swap meet or e-bay.. I also read that for the Plymouth, as they were not factory available, the D24gravel shields were installed by dealers as a dress up item for sales enhancements.. Quote
Young Ed Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 I've been looking for a better one to replace the one on my car. I had 2 that were different on the car when I got it. Someone on here sent me a quite decent one that matched one of the ones I already had but the one I already had is kinda beat up. The left one in the pic is the one I have a pair of now. Quote

Tim, With the gravel guard my problem right now is that I have one side in Stainless. Not sure which side it is., I will have to check and let you know. Maybe we might have a bingo or maybe the other side is in a box in my parts car. ??? Tim & Young Ed, I will snap a picture of the gravel guard I do have and post it next week. Jim, I will be at Sully again but I don't think the 48 will be ready for the event. Lots to do to reinstall the interior as well as the trim and glass. Thanks to all for the encouragement. It keeps me honest & focused. Chet… Quote

Don Coatney Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Chet; Your car looks better with each progress report. If Greg, Rodney, Jim, and I drive to Sully next year we will pound (read beat the crap out of) you if you dont drive your P-15 there. On another note. I just arrived in town a few minutes ago. Terrible trip! spent three hours parked on the interstate split between two locations. It made an 11 hour trip a 14 hour trip. However I did work on my kidney exercizes and never spilled a drop:D Quote

Chet… PS… Sorry about the trip. The good news is you were on the clock… Quote
