  1. OMG! That thing is awesome..... I will keep an eye out for one when I get my current projects completed. That track vehicle is so cool....
  2. Great job for being a first song! I totally dig it!
  3. I think so, I am seeing only a taper of .0022". A light hone and it will most likely be perfectly serviceable.
  4. Did your sleeved bore measure out good? Perhaps you can clean it up and reuse it? Just curious... P.S.- small bores = more pressure Large bores = higher volume
  5. If you sleeve them in bronze or stainless, the bores will not corrode. This will make the brakes last longer. If you don't drive the cars/trucks frequently, the rust sets in really quick. I am now using this method, because, I let one Power Wagon sit for a couple of years. I was waiting on a paint shop to get the body ready... Once I finally got painted parts back and got the truck assembled, the wheel cylinders began leaking(I purchased them new, installed and bled the brakes before removing the body to bring to the paint shop). The first vehicle I sleeved with bronze was about 23 years ago(1959 D100), the truck doesn't get driven much. Last fall I bumped into the guy I sold the truck to and he told me that he changed the brake fluid and there were no leaks anywhere. He did it as a maintenance procedure, and mentioned that he was impressed that the wheel cylinders and master cylinder were still good. I now believe in sleeving because of this.
  6. If you find a 1960 Slant six powered truck, I have seen 1 slant six town wagon, you can use the bell housing and the engine mounts to bolt everything into the post pilot house trucks. I did this many years ago. I have never been able to find another early slant six truck since. Almost all of them I find is a flathead or a poly V8. The 1961 and up, I am not sure if they would work. The frame was drastically changed in the 1961- trucks. I haven't swapped one yet, or been asked to.
  7. I look forward to seeing this! I am planning on supercharging my 1936. I would like to see if you will box it in just like I would.... Or do it differently.... Okay... I am shutting up and watching the show! I am a learning person, and I am always interested in an expert's approach. I just never felt that was one way to eat a Reece's.... So to speak..
  8. Are you in Los Angeles(I noticed L.A. when I looked you up)? If so, go visit Karp's in Upland CA. I have personally used them and have had great results. They can do anything for you as well as sleeving your parts. They recently sleeved my Wheel Cylinders and Master Cylinder to my 1937 Dodge in stainless steel. http://www.karpspb.com/
  9. Shannon from "Redline" has resurrected speedometers for me. And not only that, he can repaint them to perfect OE condition! He will do custom artwork too... I have NEVER been let down. My 2¢ worth... https://redlinegaugeworks.com/
  10. It will be worth the wait!
  11. Believe it or not, after being away from home for like 30 years, I went to my mom's house in Kansas last year. I always get talked into fixing my father in laws van. While on my back, changing a ruptured brake line, I felt something strange under my back. I rolled over and dug out a 3/8" box end open end wrench. I know for a fact, that was from my teenage years. I am guilty.... LOL
  12. I wonder if anyone in San Diego has a Tumbler? Hmmm....
  13. Do you have a picture of it to share?
  14. Yes, my friends own one. It has the factory disc brakes too(Aircraft Design). It can stop quicker than it can accelerate... The Power Windows are Hydraulic too... Neat car!
  15. @Tim Kieth, If this new inline engine is produced, it sure would be nice if they carry over the same bell housing as the Hemi/Magnum/LA/A engines! That way if I buy one, I can put a transmission behind it that doesn't require a computer to operate it....
  16. If I am ever blessed with a opportunity to come to Australia. I will definitely look you up Andy. You are top notch and a very positive person here. I always enjoy reading your posts.
  17. I got one of those too. I am going to have it refurbished in Upland CA...
  18. When I was a part of a few racing teams through my years, I did get 1 uniform, 1 hat, and two t-shirts. And even though my labor was free, and all other expenses paid, A LOT of money spent makes it happen. Spending 20-30 grand on a engine to remain competitive is not out of the ordinary... And engines are constantly dismantled, inspected, and freshened up. The faster you go, the more is spent.... But the experience is Priceless! Would do it all over again if given the opportunity! Thanks for taking interest in our beloved flatheads.
  19. Neat, I want a sponsor to my madness! Muhahaha Obviously, you guys have really spent some money with these guys in order to earn the sponsorships. I am glad that you guys are doing this, so the rest of us can benefit by being able to purchase performance parts that you help design.
  20. I know all about that! My kids like the boxes too... Or grab tools and lose them for me in the house somewhere! Little buggars! LOL I can't wait for them to grow up and help too.
  21. I got one of those... Used it twice and pushed it out back. Not worthy of being called a "blast cabinet". I have been looking for a real deal ancient "thick" one for sale on the cheap. No success just yet.. MoparMontana, Isn't that a Tumbler? The kind you use shot in? Never seen one that size if it is. Very nice...
  22. His point was that he used the overlooked 305 chebbie to make it work in his application. Kinda similar to us doing this sort of things with flatheads in our Mopars. I honestly feel like he wasn't meaning to stir the pot... Just wanted to share a "underdog" experience with positive results. A tad off topic, but good intentions.
  23. I really like how that four cylinder Rev's on the Dyno. Impressive results for a 90 year old engine!
  24. Hi Pete, We think similar, I to enjoy the "wow" factor of someone putting some energy into modifying a flathead. I am so sick of the small block chevy being shoved into everything out there, that I care never to see one again. If your time and effort makes extra HP, I see that as a added bonus. Please keep sharing, I understand where Greg is coming from, but not all of us are that technical. I got lucky goofing around with a slant six, people laughed at me, criticized me, and you get the point. But every single one of those guys finally got their chance to run side by side. I never lost a race.... Yet... But it's fun for me, and if I lose, well it's just a slant six for crying out loud! LOL Please keep motoring Pete, I am enjoying your efforts. -Jack H.
  25. Welcome Randy! I am a big time truck fan myself. I have restored many Mopar Muscle Cars, including the "Hemi" versions... I guess all I can say in comparison is, you will encounter a lot more fine threaded fasteners! And possibly some square ones too.... Have fun, and don't hesitate to ask for help. Welcome to the forum!
