  1. De Soto Frank , sounds like we have the same machine it says Coats tireman Model 3 star. Here is a link to a parts manual I found http://www.aescosc.com/pdfs/c%20_tc_3%20star.pdf Norm, the tire machine is only a small part of my backyard I have about a dozen vehicles around I think she would like to plant the flower pot over me Rockwood funny you mention concrete this machine was sunk about 2" into a concrete floor when I picked it up
  2. I picked up a old coats tire machine yesterday and not sure if I will have room for it inside. I was thinking of keeping it outside maybe cover it with a plastic trash can to keep the weather off it and the wife happy and was just wondering if anyone else keeps one outside. Its a manual machine and got it and a basic bubble balancer for $25.00 seemed like a fair price so I brought it home. Amazing place this internet I did a search and found a parts listing for it. Ed
  3. Where did you get the connectors from were they good quality.
  4. Not sure if it would be a direct fit but have you consider a blower motor from a late 50's when the went to 12v ? Ed
  5. Their web ad states "Think of us if you have a corroded, heater holed, sand blasted, over sprayed, rusted, bent or missing problem tag" so it looks like they do repro missing tags they may want proof but a photocopy of the title should be good enough
  6. Tim, a question do you know what the resistor would be to drop it to 5 volts. Some of the 60's-70's mopers although they had 12v used 5v for the gas gauge. Ed
  7. I was planning to try to stay close to the original colors on the diagram and use cloth covered wire. The price they on the website does not seem to be that much of a difference for the 100' rolls.Below is a link to their price chart c1 is the chart I was looking at. http://www.riwire.com/Catalogs/sup/pages/priceA.htm
  8. My 52 Cambridge does not have the horn ring. The horn ring was used on the upgraded models or special deluxe as they were called with the P15's
  9. As my 52 Cambridge has the original wires which need replacing some more then others. I decided to purchase the wire in bulk and do it one wire at a time. I am considering using Rhode Island Wiring. I will install the wires so I can run 6 volt for now. I went through the wiring diagram and have the size and colors. The reason for the posting is I was wondering if anyone who has purchased bulk wire has a idea approximately how much is needed. Ed
  10. as Norm and Merle said do not click on it. It is a trick to get you to install their program which I think maybe spyware. Agree 100% with Norm Nortons in my experience is the way to go. Ed
  11. A few in the past week I did not connect to the server but tried again a few minutes later and got connected
  12. Presently my vehicles are stock original rear and trans but I have been considering either a overdrive or rear upgrade to handle higher speeds more comfortably (one may get a engine drive train transplant but that is a story for another day). Now having read the recent and previous threads about overdrives it sounds to me that they do have more then their share of problems and it makes sense as they have more moving parts so would it be a logical conclusion that a upgrade to the rear would be less trouble once the swap is made. Ed
  13. I have motion sensor on my out side lights so if anyone comes up to my garage lights go on. Now if you have the type thief that steals during day lights won't help but a shot gun with a trip wire may.
  14. I know there is a internal and external water pump by pass never heard of different rotations. Here is the NAPA # from the parts reference on this web site 55-713 see if they can match the number
  15. Its been a few years since I rebuilt a carb but the kits I had always came with a instruction sheet also there should be good information in the service manual. If you don't have a manual for your vehicle get one either a original or a repro also on the DEPTCA link there are some manuals on line
  16. Is there a letter before the numbers mopar engines started with a letter T= truck,P=plymouth,D=Dodge,s= Desoto,c=Chyrsler
  17. Brian, I sent you a email I could use that trunk handle if you are back in that yard sometime in the future Ed
  18. I see you have the 236 engine I know both NAPA and roberts has the fuel pumps for the 218 and 230 not sure if your engine uses the same pump you may need a part number from someone on the pilothouse side to use NAPA if not I would call roberts thay have been in business for years and may be able to help (800)-231-3180 or Roberts http://www.robertsmotorparts.com/truck_parts.asp Also I would check a manual to find out what is output pressure of the fuel pump before you buy a electric pump. A electric pump needs a safety switch to shut it down in case of a accident as even if the engine stops the pump still keeps pumping until the key is off
  19. My be guess a bumper guard perhaps to make it easier to push the car around
  20. Rust can be anywhere but here are drains that should be clear to prevent further damage at the link http://www.oldmopar.com/oldmopar/Drainsholes.html
  21. The higher the cca the move reserve the battery will have the longer it will crank until it dies. So the higher the better so I would get the 725. When I put my 52 on the road this comming spring I plan to get one of the optima batteries but they are costly. The size of the battery cable is also important in cranking power you should be using 00 or 01 size the larger the better 00 is best I know the napa by me had 01 size which is still good. Also it may help to relocate the positive cable closer to the starter to give a shorter distance for the current to travel
  22. There is always some fool in a rush even when I drive to work in my newer truck a 2000 s10 I can be going faster then the speed limit and they still tailgate. About 6 years or so back I owned a Model T top speed was about 35mph it did not take long for a long line to form behind me so I just learned to ignore them Ed

  24. Ok if a pilot house leaves Virginia how long to get to the Hudson valley ?
