  1. Yeah a #12-24 tpi screw would come real close to a 5.5M 1.0.
  2. Patience on this matter will prove to be a lesson learned whether you get this car or not. You don't currently own it because you have not given him any money so you won't be out anything if he sells it to someone else. If you see ruts in his yard and the car is gone you will have learned that you didn't want to deal with him anyway. Either way, $500.00 is a steal for the car. I hope you get it.
  3. IF i remember correctly it seems as if there is a spring loaded nut and washer that you can tighten up.
  4. Bob yours is beautiful and I'm glad you restored it. Joe yours looks to be amazingly original. If it were mine I wouldn't change anything other than to keep it reliable and safe with regular maintenance.
  5. Dirty connections can cause weak spark. If your wiring is corroded under the insulation this can cause resistance also. I had a weak spark at one time on my '48 and I fixed it by replacing the wire from the ignition, the wire had been spliced together and was not in good shape. I would also check your battery cables as they are the main source of power from your battery to your ignition.
  6. Welcome. Really nice find. More details and pictures please.
  7. What engine and drive train are you running? Details please.
  8. Welcome, you have a nice project there. These are pretty simple cars to work on. The ribbed bumpers were at one time very popular with the customizer crowd. Have fun and keep us posted on your progress.
  9. My brother has what looks to be the exact same vacuum operated fan on his '33 Plymouth. It was on the car when our dad bought it in 1976. Also my '48 Plymouth DeLuxe has the passenger side wiper and interior sun visor.
  10. Welcome young man. Tell us what you know about your car and include lots of pictures. Don't be afraid to ask questions. It's good to see young people that are interested in these old cars. Like Casper said get it running and stopping so you can enjoy it. Then make a plan of what you can realistically do to make it more enjoyable.
  11. Try SMS. It's expensive though, about $90.00 per yard. They will send you a free sample. https://smsautofabrics.com/
  12. What P A said!
  13. Any word on the paint yet?
  14. I got mine from Roberts Motor Parts years ago and it still works great.
  15. What is an "89 foxbody 5.0"? Is it a 1989 Mustang? If so, then what is the paint code? Maybe you can shoot us a picture of the label on the spray paint can.
  16. You have spark. How strong is it? Your fuel pump is running. Is it actually pumping though? As suggested above a little squirt of fuel down the carb and you should get some response. Change one thing at a time and the problem should reveal itself. Without knowing the condition of all the variables it does make it tough to diagnose but the people on here will do what they can and it cost you nothing more than the time to type your questions and read their responses.
  17. Can you send more pictures, please?
  18. Rock Auto may have what you need also although it doesn't show in their listing. If you can cross reference to other vehicles using the same part number you may get lucky.
  19. A lot of times I resize the pictures by opening them up with the Paint program then use the resize option in the tool bar.
  20. Did you use your tracking number to follow its process? You can get a detailed report of its travels including its last known whereabouts and its next destination. That is not a small package that would just be kicked around with ease. Keep after them and contact customer support via phone, email, US mail and anything else you can think of. Someone knows something about its whereabouts.
  21. I had to use single 0 gage cable for the positive ground connection to the generator bracket so that I had enough flexability to run it in the space provided. My other cables, battery to solenoid and solenoid to starter I used double 0 gage. It made an unbelievable amount of difference in the cranking speed compared to the old cables. Some were original and well weathered.
  22. Is it a tube front axle with leaf springs? That's what my brothers '33 Plymouth has. My '34 Dodge's have independent with coil springs.
  23. Was your steering box like the one TodFitch showed? If so, did you follow the instructions exactly and in order? If yes, then you will probably have to send it back or find another shop that is familiar with this type of box.
  24. There it is. Thanks You TodFitch. I thought I had read that the earlier models were a bit different in their adjustment.
  25. I'm not sure on your '33 but this post is very informative. Pay particular attention to post #7 it seems to be right on the money. I don't believe Grey Beard is with us anymore but he left us some great information.
