  1. Like this? If's water tight, I'd leave it.
  2. Never implied only used on pre-war. Just answering soth122003 about design of housing. Later models had more vertical outlet.
  3. Needed for faster defroster heat.
  4. Thermostat housing is a pre-war model and looks exactly like my 41, minus the nipple
  5. My opinion threads are too few for serious ground connection.
  6. On my 1941 Spitfire, threaded bolts are for throttle bracket, Vacuum tube to carb, clips, and air cleaner bracket
  7. Not to sound annoying but I haven't converted. My camper gets 12v from solid state relays with 6-12v converter.. Phone charger works on 6v by swapping leads in plug. ?
  8. Second what Greg g wrote. Just want to add the following: fuses, fuses and then some more fuses. Specially dome light. On most older cars, dome lamp are wired hot. Some as a turn switch, others as door switch. They go through a flimsy bi metal fuse at rear of light switch. Don't rely on it, use a traditional fuse. If it short circuits, wire along head lining, car will burn down.? If you don't like your ammeter, install a bulb between Arm and Bat on regulator and presto, you have a modern charge lamp.
  9. Yes very confusing but what ISO Grade is this oil? Looked it up and it comes in standard 4 different grades. ISO 32 is closest to MoPar fluid.
  10. Burned my fingers several times in the past with projects, so called complete and incomplete and never again. In my opinion, projects others took apart are only good for parts.
  11. As far as I understand, Vacamatic tramisions (vacuum operated) are called M4. M6 is the hydraulic operated transmission ? normanpitkin have you tried the optional double action fuel pump with vacuum booster?
  12. I never understood the 12 volt quest. Search for Mater Tech Filmstrips link covered not long ago. There are 5 films about hydraulic transmission and diagnosing them. Solenoid will work with reverse voltage but faster and harder, in the end break down. Same goes for dashpot. Your 12 Ohm anti shuttle resistor and built in circuit breaker will be useless too and must be changed to another value using Ohms law.
  13. No it.s a 3 but middle one is for dash indicators. These can be connected to wire feeding front and rear
  14. plymouthcranbrook it seems you where right
  15. Thanks for sharing and giving us the possibility ?
  16. I also like these educational films so I downloaded them all to my PC from Imperial Club and YouTube years ago. Same goes for the booklets. No need to go online. This the first time I have seen the player in action. Thanks for the link. ?
  17. Ok I also have 6v pos so here's what I did. I went through 8 different 6v and 4 different 12v LED flashers before finding one that suits my need. I think i tried all flashers from China on ebay. I dislike the way led flashes fast on/off like modern cars. I wanted the glow out like incandescent bulbs. I was ready to invent a delay using 555 timer. To my surprise I found a 12v motor cycle flasher worked as intended. I left the original small indicator bulb in dash for correct load (flash intervals), but swapped front and rear light with led. Flasher is small. cheap and waterproof. Two wires for + and -. 18. Hundreds of MoPars http://www.imcdb.org/search.php
  19. Why do you need a LED flasher? Are all bulbs swapped with led? What about turn indicator bulb? Electrics original 6 v? You need to clarify more if you want help.
  20. Looks like a GM Delco SPST (Single Pole Single Throw) relay. Typically grounded housing with hot connected to middle will connect the outer terminals. Typically horn relay.
  21. Love the battery. Nice details with cloth wiring and cables, hose clamps, SolarSpark and other decals. Interesting place for coil and relays. Only thing I would change are the modern spark plug wires.
